Hey everyone,
Just wanted to drop by and share some thoughts now that a few weeks have passed since my last post.
Previously, I mentioned that the biggest hurdle in Scarlet Enclave was the gear check — and that for most raid groups, meaningful progression beyond certain bosses would be extremely tough without weeks (if not months) of gearing up. I also may have unintentionally rallied a wave of Shockadin feedback when we saw changes to the Sunlight Sword.
Since then, though, the dev team has really stepped up.
Not only was Sunlight reintroduced in a more fitting form as a cloak rune, but Shockadins also received a fantastic tier set that feels both powerful and well-earned. These changes have gone a long way toward making the spec feel viable and rewarding to play.
On top of that, recent updates to the Scarlet Enclave itself have given raid groups more flexibility, and the additional attempts on bosses have helped progression feel smoother and more reasonable. Our group (averaging around a 60 parse) managed to kill Council in 5:56 after about 12 wipes in the first week and two solid weeks of focused progress — just 3 hours a night. Early on, we had strong execution but couldn’t beat the enrage; with some tuning and persistence, we pushed through.
The extra fragment drop has also helped make the 40-man logistics more manageable, which is a huge relief for many raid leaders.
Most importantly, I want to take a moment to sincerely thank the dev team. The changes over the past few weeks haven’t just improved gameplay — they’ve renewed morale across entire communities. You’ve taken player feedback seriously and responded with thoughtful, generous updates that show a deep understanding of how we experience this game. That kind of responsiveness creates real trust and goodwill. It makes us feel heard, respected, and genuinely excited to log in and raid again. You’ve managed to keep the spirit of discovery alive while smoothing out some of the rough edges, and that’s no small feat especially at the end of the content pipeline.
From me and, I’m sure, from many others: thank you for caring. It means more than you know, even if all we ever do is come to these forums to whine most of the time.
