I used to apply one then the other and MH and OH and no issues. But now it seems like it always randomly will default to MH and end up wasting my wax charges.

It’s an issue we’ve had for some time now, but seems to have gotten worse with this expansion. Along with 80 other issues.
Basically, the system that’s supposed to “smart apply” weapon buff items and poisons seems to be queueing the casts onto the main hand if you don’t allow at least 1/2 a second or more between the initial application and starting the next one.
It used to be smart, and apply the queued consumable to the OH, but has stopped doing so for some time now. And I’ve noticed it has started doing it with poisons, if I try to queue reapplying them too quickly. It likes to just ignore the fact that Atrophic/Crippling was used after Instant poison if I try using it by queuing it in the spell queue window.
It never did. Since BfA when weapon oils were first a thing you always had to wait for the first cast to finish before applying the second. The reason is actually completely understandable, if youre doing it sooner youre just adding it to the spell queue which still sees “MH doesnt have an effect”. Yall need to stop.
the wax currently doesnt work on offhand
So the passive aggressive advice here is to simply wait a few seconds and then apply?
Just trying to understand as I just tested it and it doesn’t work like that. I tried 10 times and it applies the “new” oil to the one that doesn’t have the other one on it.
Seems like this might be an issue with it deciding what to do if it already has stuff on the weapons.
It was not advice. Just straight up me correcting false info.
But yes you just need to wait for the first cast to finish before beginning the second assuming the second doesnt already have an effect. If it does… well right click the buff ig
They like to argue a ton and pretend to be right about things that were functioning one way for the most part of an entire expansion.
It very much did apply to the offhand if queued in a large part of Shadowlands, which is why half of us developed the muscle memory for doing it that way.
And then were frustrated when it ceased functioning and started consuming both instances of the consumable for the main hand.
Yes, waiting the half-second for the spell queue to clear to apply it.
If both weapons have something applied, it will always prioritize the main hand for the initial application.
I’m not sure if you’ve tried this, but have you removed a dagger, put it on, then put the other one on, and applied it? Afterward, put both daggers on to see if the buff remains active.
I think it’s extremely inconsistent, because last Sunday I had it on both weapons but on Monday it would only apply to one. Same weapons both times. Who knows lol
applying wax on both hands currently doesnt do extra damage. thats why you only apply wax MH and then apply a stone or oil to OH
Yep doing it manually works like removing one, etc. I also noticed it seems to work fine if there are no oils or whatever on a weapon, but only messes up when trying to overwrite.
Poor ignorant feller’s posts are becoming irony personified
Oh, thanks!
