Reporting in that my 2021 14" MacBook Pro M1 Max with 32GB ram is crashing my whole machine without a crash/bug report. Upon launching WOTLK and after a few minutes the whole machine locks up and is unresponsive. Only way to resolve is to perform a reset of the laptop. I saw the other thread but that one seems to be for Intel Macs on Sonoma. I saw from others that a workaround is to play in Windowed mode which seems to work, but my preference is to be in Fullscreen mode.
Would need to see panic log, another user was getting one too and the panic actually showed it had nothing to do with wow and was more due to fact the OS wasn’t done doing background processes (post update) yet and as a result it had the watchdog crash (which has a 47 page thread of like 100 diff reasons it happens but all share in common that the kernel gets overwhelmed doing too much at once and panics).
Can’t assume that’s your crash though til you post panic log if you can get it.

That’s not even an apple silicon mac like OP, that’s an intel kaby lake kernel panic and it looks like it’s caused by a 3rd party kext for a USB device you are using.
You’re crashing because you have 3rd party kernel software installed that’s not compatible with macOS Sonoma. uninstall usb.cdc.acm
I’m still having the same issue, the game is unplayable, as soon as I start it, it crashes. Macbook pro m1 2021
