I’m in the beta testing all healers in m+ and raid. I also been following the Midnight Beta Forum feedback. I don’t believe Blizz will have the UI, damage meter including the nameplates and raid frames fully updated that includes important player feedback. I think Blizz has bitten off more than they can chew.
Oh and why is it AA dungeon from DF xpac is returning? Dungeons from DF including more recent prior xpacs were specifically designed with third party combat addons in mind?
Ion had a post on reddit just the other day where he openly admitted they won’t be ready. This, of course, should have come as no surprise; but it’s still rather amusing when people finally realize there was never any chance of this not being a disaster.
The number of trash mobs, the first boss comes to mind. The nameplates in beta either float all over the place or stack so tightly that it’s a challenge for any player, especially the tank to quickly target. Blizz did say in one of their blue posts’ dungeons would be in line with nameplates in Midnight for one, less trash, less casters. Well not in AA.
It’s only November. There’s plenty of time for the usual wow dev crunch time to rush it to release.
But if they hold up release for the sake of argument (which would be the second time they’d do it - wasn’t it shadowlands they delayed very close to the original date for a couple months if not SL it was one of them within the last ten years) then ok.
I mean it’s a silly point to argue . They will do what they do. We will play it (at release) when they release it. Be it if the assumption its releasing in march or it’s not coming until July .
Blizz has outright admitted it won’t be ready, so you are correct.
Why they insist on reinventing all the addons they want to replace is baffling. If they actually looked at the existing addons that have 20 years worth of product iteration and player testing behind it they could easily copy/paste what they needed from already existing addons.
But yes, them thinking they are going to build 20 years worth of addons from scratch in a couple months while plugging their ears and yelling “Nananananananana” they are just going to make a mess of things.
even games like eve usually leave its API tweaking separate from main game. its more side burner than back one. new expac drops, API not done they can own that no issues, roll out old API till done.
WOW…needs this out day 1. Paid pro’s and their fans said add ons won’t be needed. we got this.
all I know I’ve seen classic devs mess up quest UI. it came in OG wrath. They broke it to not even be in the redo. Broke it from copy/pasta from tape backu. this is why I still use questie. I don’t know what team aggrend will mess up. questie is reliable…as are most add ons from 3rd party.
team aggrend at one point…worked for retail. I know where they came from. also some of our delays were them side working,. Your stuff. So enjoy that. we do.
There was talk for a year among devs and Ion, there was Alpha and now Beta. Wouldn’t one think devs could develop the UI and everything that it entails would be better built prior to Alpha? These devs seem to have lied on their resume.
People have been saying this for literally every single expansion, patch, update, PTR, Beta, convention, event, and literally everything else ever Blizzard related. This is just pointless noise that you are creating and please, if you are actually participating in the Beta … offer actual feedback, not pointless noise.
I have been providing feedback to the devs. What you’re forgetting is that besides class balancing, there are two decades of UI and combat addon development from third parties that had made combat easier to understand and quickly. I’m not against Blizz offing third party combat addons by the way. The stuff I’m seeing in beta is subpar and it’s already far too late.
I really hope Blizz takes all our feedback and makes these changes to the base game UI, damage meter, nameplates, cooldown manager…etc…before Midnight is released, otherwise I’ll have a big bowl of popcorn and watch from the sidelines.
This beta, this xpac, is different than any other that players and doomed and gloomed on, this is my first xpac I’m glooming on because of what I’ve seen and tested in beta, oh and provided my feedback on. It shouldn’t be this bad.
According to GD, no expansion was truly ready to launch. This is how it goes every time, and every time, WoW turns out just fine. Game will be fine, just the usual doomsayers.
