I wonder if anyone else has noticed this? One of my guildies realised I was still actually online when I was appearing offline, how? I had my Battle . net app set to appear offline?
Happened a couple of times actually, really annoying. Is there something I’m doing wrong?
You still appear in the Guild list when online don’t you?

Because it isn’t a 100% offline thing. It will show you offline to your friends etc. but things like guilds it will show you online. Think of it as offline on the b net app but not in-game.

Here are a couple old threads that discuss this very topic.
Long story short - offline is for BNet App. Guild members will see you as online and you will show up in the “online” guild roster in game.

If you queue dungeons then your name will still appear as quick join. At least thats one way of knowing.
Damn that really sucks… and I mean really really sucks. Wish it made you invisible everywhere.

This, and gotta love when they happen to oust themselves by getting an achievement when they’re trying to be all sneaky.
Yep. There are times when I would really like to be /anon (Old EQ way) and oblivious to the rest of the world.

To add to this, I recently found out if you appear offline on bnet, communities have you appear offline as well.
I remember the first time I was caught in offline mode.

and that is why you have an alt to play that is not in a guild so you can be alone.
If you add individual characters to your friends list theyll show up too.
