AppealCore Is Back

People will always complain about everything you suggest. Just to disagree lol. They’ll claim people will abuse it. And, I agree people would. But, it’s the best option available that doesn’t discredit the whole idea of “don’t die”. They’ll claim that any suggestion would be game breaking or to powerful, like the idea of just letting people dungeon grind.

I quit playing hardcore, because trying to quest in the open world has to much competition. Was taking me 2 hours to complete 5 quests just because all the mobs were dead. If people could dungeon grind, there would be a split of people who actually WANT to open world quest, and people like me who prefer to dungeon grind (prot warrior tanking, resto druid healing). Dungeon grinding is to overpowered and people would use high levels to powerlevel then while ignoring the fact that blizzard already nerfed this HARD, but at the same time they’ll fence pathing kite and abuse evade spots as “creative use of gameplay mechanics”. They’re easy to spot if they had the soul of iron buff, they all now have the tarnished soul debuff.

I wouldn’t mind this solution, it’s mainly just semantic differences: they both detect and mitigate, one just does it immediately in real-time while the other does it with a delay due to the practical nature of mitigating a DDOS instantaneously (read: you can’t).

If you only rely on immediate DC as your solution, there is just no way it is “instant enough” to save a lot of people. it will always take at the very least a few seconds to force DC all character and game state once they know there is a DDOS happening (which btw will ALSO affect their own internally-needed service communications to convey this command). Lots of people die within the first few seconds of a DDOS.

Now, an immediate DC server shutdown with some sort of safe relocation upon re-login for all characters active when the shutdown happened who were not in a safe city location coupled with a follow-up DDOS analysis pass to ensure ALL those who died are covered by that mechanism (and if not, what they are doing now for us would be then done for the remaining characters) would make the most sense as the complete solution.

No solution is perfect. And some innocents always are killed in the process of something big. Also, they would have kept trying to log back in most likely anyways and died anyway.

My four year-old will cry and scream sometimes if he thinks my six year-old got a quarter inch more chocolate milk in his glass than he did. Can you guess who you are in this analogy?

The milk??

Yourself perhaps

Yes, there will be more, but less than if they hadn’t enabled appeals.

I like that you didn’t even deny it.

Why would I spend time trying to deny something that you said? You’re an idiot that no one takes seriously lol.

Well think of it this way. Now everyone knows that you will get 100% of your toons back if you die due to a DDoS while you are streaming… So… what better way to make sure that there s no way you can ever die than to have a friend watching stream, you have their contact info…you know something such as a wipe is about to happen…txt them… they’ll DDoS and you get 100% of everything back. So in other words…you don’t actually play HC WoW. You can use that tactic to get a rez as many times as you wish… people have done it before. Blizzard is not the first to do the 1 in game life gameplay. That really is the oldest trick in the book too. So yea. They now know that tactic works. They’re going to keep on using it.

To be fair, I’d be cool with it if they didn’t use the specific wording “Under no circumstance”. They need to add an *.

I thought this said “AppleCore” lol :tangerine:
Also my hands are  s

That’s the genre my band plays.
