I’m in the same boat. All my dps classes I play are bottom tier. Can’t clear floor 6 boss solo. Specs need major balancing or torghast final boss needs huge nerf. I would prefer the balancing. Hell maybe even both.
You’ll be happy to know. Today’s patch nerfs nothing in torg, and buffs bosses instead! Have fun.

This part i don’t understand. There are going to be 8 layers, the lower layers shouldn’t be super hard…well imo anyway.
I play a BM hunter ilvl 171. If BM hunters are weak, I haven’t seen it. I top most 5 man dps in heroic and mythic, and easily solo layer 3 bosses with no deaths. This doesn’t seem reflective of my own experience.
Are you talking about patchwerk sims because almost no fight nowadays is patchwerk and it’s not actually indicative of balance.
No game will ever have perfect balance between any specs. Besides there will always have to be a bottom spec(s).
I should probably be ashamed to admit it, but you opened the door for me. I ultimately had a torghast fail (the one and only) due to too many deaths from chains… and one from being in a hurry to run back and leaping straight off an edge rather than waiting for the grappling hook to pull me over.

To be honest, I’d prefer rotating which class is op compared to what we have now.
The last time Ret was FoTM was over a decade ago, and even then they weren’t the strongest spec. It’s very clear they have a stronger grip on “balancing” certain specs compared to others.
The only thing Blizz can do (not if they had the skill but in general) is get the classes to a good place and never ever touch them again. No changes and no more added powers unless its the exact same power for everyone. They have had issues with this FOREVER. It was a problem before we even had these distinct specializations when it was just a skill here or there so I can imagine its only gotten worse. And they keep adding to our power from outside our classes making that another layer on top of the problem they’ve always had. I guess they enjoy the attempt since they’ve been at it since launch,

I think good game design would allow for value other than dps numbers. Hyper balancing defeats the purpose of having a class choice at all.
I can relate to this, in BM character does 40% less DPS compared to MM.
Disgrace to whoever was balancing this out.
This is an arcane mage and I have completely given up playing her because her class/spec is clearly tuned around having a tank and a healer at the least.
And before some elitist jerk tells me to ‘git gud’, when I can complete open world content on my other eight characters but this one dies continuously, it is not a ‘me’ problem.

Rocket science is legitimately basic physics and it is most definitely harder to balance WoW perfectly than do the math required for rocket science.
Remember: if all DPS was balanced, Warrior would still be the lowest on a DPS chart.
MM is super front loaded from what i have seen, which is super awesome in m0 dungeons. It will be interesting to see if their damage holds up on raid bosses, when the bosses last more than a minute and a half or so. No one really knows until heroic raids are dropped and they get data. All we have right now is m0 and that really favors big burst front loaded damage. If the difference is 40% in raids, then i hope my BM gets a bit of a boost to catch up.
