AP grinding is coming hard in 8.2

Gonna be a bunch of bonuses in the new Heart Tree that we need to grind AP to unlock

I’m happy we don’t have to re-unlock azurite abilities on gear anymore, but not so pumped that 8.2 brings a whole new grind motivation otherwise you are gimped.

I dont believe the grind is gonna matter much for people that dont run Mythic or high-end PvP

Performance in PVP should be about skill, not AP grinding.

You’re not wrong but in high end pvp, the small difference in gear can make a difference in similar skill levels.

A grind for more passives. woooooooo…

It will unlock active abilities and passives in your heart of azeroth dependent on the content you do with talents tailored around that - grinding will be probably similar to Legion but with it not being front loaded but more meaningful choices through the expansion.

I kind of disagree.

This is an MMORPG, after all. The grinder gods and Mythic badasses should get the upper hand – they earned it.

I will be honest, I’ve never had that much of an issue, I leveled an alt about 3 weeks ago, and he’s already at 40 HoA. Which is past mythic ilvl for the first 2-3 rings. My main which is this girl is at 44, and should be 45 after this week depending how much effort i put into it, or if i put more effort into it last week, which I probably should have but its not the end of the world anymore. With the catchup mechanic, its so easy to get HoA levels, right now, especially after they extended it. An average person should be 47-50 by the time everything is done.

This game must suck for people who can’t play every day.

been playing since launch and i’m at 39

it’s definitely a grind and intended to motivate playing the game more than you’d otherwise want to

Actually the new grind for the neck only will add not only passive abilities but active abilities that people will be able to add to their action bars.

Legion says hello ! Same. I won’t be surprised if they just copy/paste passive and spells from legion

We’ve already did that for 3 years. Stop with AP already…

I’ll believe it when I see it. Could be useless actives or 3 minute cooldowns.

Yup. 8.2 is probably the big end for this cesspool of an xpac.
Not many people will take yet another AP grind nicely, me included.

So the Heart of Azeroth cap will increase from Level 50 to 100 you figure?

dunno, i’m waiting with dread honestly

and I shouldn’t feel this way about my paid entertainment

and all the AP grinding rewards will be trashed for the next xpac, effectively bringing our talents/power/skills back to level 100 again

No, they’ll probably switch it around somehow.
I believe the 50 lvls were a “hard” cap. Probably start from scratch again, they’ll have us do some cheesy quest where magni goes: “Oh noe, Azeroth needs tae get back all the azerite from yer neck! Quickly, champion! Use yer neck at the chamber to stop’er from bleedin tae death!”

Until there is a PTR, it is a little early to freak out about these changes.

Though, once it hits the PTR, complaining won’t change anything either.

Blizzard has us with our backs to a wall.

Most players on PTR: “This is poorly designed and not fun.”

nothing changes

Blizzard, one year later: “We didn’t get enough feedback on PTR, but we’ll do better going forward!”

repeats ad nauseam
