Added a tint which is how these things should be handled rather than outright bringing the original back.
There are sometimes (too rarely, honestly) unique rewards for doing something in current content, and that’s okay. If anything we’d benefit from more of them (especially from keys and raids).

People have suggested color shifts and still get screamed at as bad by the elitists. Every suggestion is shot down. Either way, a return or re-skin of limited items would still be welcomed to involve new players.
Nothing Blizz does can take away the work people put into their shiny things, the covetous nature and clutching of pearls is simply an exclusionary attitude.

New players have way more than enough to keep them busy/interested basically forever. They don’t even know let alone care about ugly old stuff like the ripper.
This is just people who didn’t get around to bothering to work on something while it was current and wanting it for free later, which is fine, but shouldn’t be accommodated.

No, I was right about the only reason people want items to remain limited.
They said it’d go away, so a lot of us worked on it while it was current and would prefer it’d stay that way, yes.
Recommend doing something similar in the future.
Fumbling something then demanding it be made available for everybody at a later point isn’t a reliable strategy.

these rewards should be earnable by new players. I genuinely do not understand the pearl clutching over this.

The reasons have been stated again and again. Just because you ignore reality doesn’t suddenly make those reasons go away. You don’t like those reasons? Too bad, those are the reasons.

Spite is probably not the right word, but entitlement certainly is. Although considering the number of people randomly insulting people in threads like these, pretty sure a fair few delusional trolls do it out of spite as well but they are far from the majority of people. But the primary reason is that folks feel entitled to events in the past.

I play on WRA and people in RP want to use all the assets of the game. People on regular servers do as well. Your arbitration that they have “plenty” else and not wanting ugly old stuff is a false statement.
Again, these items and their exclusive nature do nothing to build community. In the current expansion? Sure, make em exclusive. But once that content is outdated, let the people play.
This entire discussion has been about the opportunity to EARN these items again, never to have them handed out for free but you harp on that point. It is simply a false statement made in bad faith.

Nah, the topic always shifts from “bring them back, make them earnable” to “okay but also remove all the requirements so everybody can get them” which is why they didn’t bring elite sets back.

You have failed to disprove a single point or argue the merit of bringing items back. You continually fall back on finger pointing to other things and choosing your opinion as the only one that matters.
You’re not the main character. You’re just saying “Nuh-uh” and trying to act high and mighty.
I am of the mind that this exchange never could’ve served any real purpose because it’s just somebody thinking they can argue their way into things that they could never actually earn.
