Currently AoE talents kind of feel crappy to use on fire mage.
I’d like to suggest replacing flamepatch with a talent that allows flamestrike Crits to grant heating up. It would make AoE rotations feel as smooth as the ST rotation and would be much more enjoyable.
That isn’t what’s wrong with fire aoe. The problem is that all our damage is backloaded into ignite and combustion. Because of that, they neutered flamestrike’s damage to the point of uselessness. Unless you’re looking at like 20 mobs pressing that button is a waste of time and even then, some dick with a chest laser or a demonhunter will just kill them all in 2 sec.
If you want snap AoE play one of the other 2 specs because blizz made ours crap so we could have ST i guess even though like 8 other classes didn’t have to make that trade.
Phoenix flames help alot, along with the azerites essence for faster fireblast CD.
If you are speccing pheonix flames you’re not playing correctly.
Significantly better to take flame on, target the highest hp unit in the pull, and press combustion.
