Aoe @ location spells

Quick and easy.

Get rid of AOE @ location spells. They are simply no fun.

Please let Blizzard know that they went in the wrong direction with making a rotation spell on an @ location click cycle without allowing people to use @target macros. Really makes me hate/dislike playing some classes just because it’s part of the AOE dps rotation.

Then what would the tanks take sick pleasure in dragging mobs away from? :joy:

They are fine as long as

is changed imho.

@location abilities are great for a lot of things such as Shadowfury, Cap Totem, any leap spell, etc., but back when the likes of Starfall was rotational in Legion with the bracers I wouldn’t have minded an OPTION to have it @target.

Keep in mind I am saying OPTION because removing the option is a terrible choice since there are merits to both.

/cast [@cursor] Cataclysm

your problem solved.

I dont know why they allow the @cursor for them and the @target doesnt seem to work when Ive tried it.
But this is blizzard we’re talking about.

It’d be a loss but we all know what tanks love more than dragging them out of aoe is to drag mobs so no-one can stand in the healer patches.

I don’t like these spells either, which is why I enjoy being a BM/MM hunter (we don’t have any of them). Instead, we can talent into barrage, which is very fun! Except when we pull the whole room by accident (although that can also happen because of terrible pet pathing).

Agreed they are good for non rotational spells.

i actually like them, if im over here with group A nuking thing, i notice group B over wherever needs a teeny bit of help i can launch an AOE even if they are moving around a bit i can sort of plot where they will be in a couple of seconds.

throw it down, they can run the mobs to it, or stick them in place and i can go back to doing my main task

you can also @player to drop stuff right on yourself. like feather.

Is it me or is it just all dps complaining about this AoE @cursor abilities? Uh hello… healers here!!
And they ARE fun.

Idk what they’re fussing about, I have no problem unleashing flamestrike or meteor at a totally different location without losing DPS.

It’s unwieldy for me, someone with shaky hands. I’m glad to have found the @cursor/@player macro to fix my issue, but to not allow the @target option is baffling… At least give peeps the choice to cast it as is or cast directly at target; having something one way simply for the sake of a gimmick is a shame.

I don’t use macros anyway, I guess what you mentioned would make it a hassle.

I just hit my keyboard while my mouse is hovering where I want to cast them.
