Lol, yeah poor rogues!
No… f rogues
I’ve never really seen people exclusively looking for AoE dps outside of SM farm runs.
And even then, there were plenty of normal groups advertising in /2 /4.
Something happened to Demo shout with threat
In vanilla, it wouldn’t hold aggro just casting demo shout. Here are some old formulas on threat from back in the day. Now I just cast a DEMO and don’t bother with anything else, don’t even need to be in defensive stance really. Fury w/ 1h/shield FTW, Yep I’m a “tank” don’t worry, this is BFA tanking made easier

It can be, until you realize it’s only hitting 2 targets and not the whole group.
Blade Flurry is a fine, well-balanced talent.
But it isn’t AoE, which is grossly overpowered.
This. I typically run with a group of 4 with me healing and my buddies tanking and DPS’ing. We’ll get a random that tries his darndest to rushrushrush pullpullpull, and we just let him die. Its especially annoying when I call out “mana break” after a big fight and the random just keeps chugging along.
Thank god we are the majority of the group and I am healing and my friend is tanking. A lot easier to keep that kind of crap to a minimum.
You’re discovering, for the first time, something a number of us got bored with over a decade ago.
I don’t doubt it, hunters in dungeons are a delicate thing. you have to have all your pets abilities keybound.
Sword specialization you kill the first two super fast and finish off the rest of the pack. This is a rogue problem not a design problem.
Even an incompetent group doesn’t spend 6 hours in BRD.
Wrong. We absolutely did not have this problem in Vanilla, which I played.
You didn’t have this problem because you were close minded and shouted down the people who did this back then.
I’ve met a lot of nice mages but there was this one level 60 mage on Herod … Hello there Mr. (Synonym for hug)me
He had been asked nicely to provide water and completely refused to do so, so the healer had to heal my life tap the whole run until I roll Need on something he needed that I already had and won he rage pulled after that and got kicked. Went back to entrance and summoned a good person mage who did give water.
4:30 for me yesterday, and we didn’t wipe until Emp with a >200 DPS group.
QFT
The only thing a hunter really brings to the table in this meta is single DPS for bosses and more threat to the tank because shouts also affect hunter pets (giving more threat). They don’t even do reasonable aoe damage unless they are running a spellpower set. (Which is definitely a set I’ll have for later)
Its killing two of the mobs pretty damn fast and making the clean up easier. This sounds like a rogue marketing problem and not a design problem.
Stop spreading lies. People just learned how to better generate AoE threat by spamming demo shout. Nothing was buffed. If you believe otherwise the burden of proof is on you.
Nothing wrong with AoE runs. Let people play their own way.
Yea had a few mages in some of my groups who would only provide food and water if you payed them. I get charging ppl but trying to charge the guy who is keeping the group alive seems pretty messed up.
every class has aoe, some get it earlier then others. Stop being upset and lvl up you’ll get into a group when u have the abilities needed to be worth bringing. If you come in as a warrior with just heroic strike and cleave and no whirlwind? You are just dead weight and everyone in the group is looking at you wondering why they let you in the group just to bring them down. lvl 30-36 groups in classic rn are basically 2 mage 1 warlock is sustained aoe burn and 37-60 can consist of mage, warlock, hunter, warrior, druid maybe not dps druid but resto with thorns helps tanks with aoe by an insane amount every class has a spot just not right away. Games a time investment, you get ur time rewarded on 1 class at a certain point in time and until then you just keep jumping over hurdles. In the end its worth it
