I’ve been doing some dungeons and my single target Disintegrate combos feel pretty good… The issue I seem to be having is damage to multiple targets. How should aoe “rotations” look for mobs and such?
you do the same thing except higher rank your empowers and press pyre instead of disintegrate
You don’t. Even with volatility you only pyre at 5+ targets. Imagine, your single target +2nd target essence burst cleave is more damage than pyre till five targets. What’s worse? Your single target is anemic anyways.
Making the best use of pyre to extend dragon rage, full empowered spells based on target count, and use of leaping flame might help, but don’t expect to go toe to toe with BMs, rogues, dhs etc
You’re right that with volatility you cast at 3, without it it is now five. Some dungeons are better played without volatility after the disintegrate buffs. Regardless it’s still f’d up that pyre is so weak that taking volatility itself is in question.
The single target dps loss is so minor for the massive aoe gain that I just get lazy and always run volatility now
It’s not really that pyre is weak, it’s more that the last tier set made it much stronger because of applying shards so by comparison it feels like dookie now.
Rofl, taken completely out of context. My point was that it feels worse because it applied shards last tier and that’s gone now. You’re also comparing a tooltip for a channeled 2 second spell vs an instant spell built for full AoE.
At no point did I argue that it should be used in 2 target cleave or anything.
My point is that it feels worse because its garbage and does 20% of the damage disintegrate does
