I seem to have single target down, just wondering how to boost my aoe damage a bit as Dev. I just typically spam Azure strike (moving a lot), do my empowers and pyre.
Pyre is much stronger now since it was buffed, and if you’re talented for it your next two fire spells after casting fire breath are buffed, plus you hit extra targets with living flame after a full cast of fire breath. That and the talent to hit extra targets with eternity surge are pretty much it for our consistent AOE with the usual single target build. You can talent for better AOE, but it costs you single target damage.
I wouldn’t call azure strike an AOE ability. More like a “I have literally nothing else right now” ability or “must outrun thing trying to eat my face” ability.
It’s mostly just the same as normal but with Volatility instead of the 6 essence/living flame talent. Higher-empower your spells to get more out of Leaping Flames and hit more with Eternity Surge and mostly spam pyre. Use up Leaping Flames before going into Azure strikes and spam pyre more.
Our sustained AoE is pretty strong assuming all targets are stacked and since we’d only have to stop moving for our empowered spells during AoE, end up being very mobile as well.
