AOE farming has broken levelling and has been unchecked since launch. Half the groups are AOE farms. Half the server is mages. 65KXPH for some classes, 20KXPH for others. No renew sub till fix absolutely broken game.
bye Felicia.
What if I offered to you…
World of Warcraft 2?
Can i have your stuff?
What is wrong with AoE farming ?
Oh bloody hell…
Ummmmmmmmm, go play retail? Or try out PoE. It is called classic because we wanted classic, as it is.
You clearly didn’t play classic, mages aoe was broken back then and as long as you didn’t die you could kill 8 at a time.
Somebody is jelly
You’re a hunter, go oneshot them and make those bath robe wearing turds complain just as much
Roll a mage and stop getting salty easy fix I don’t think it’s broken at all they chose to play Mage. so whatever they do to level is their choice.
A group AoE farming still hits the AoE damage cap. Too many mobs and they can’t do enough damage per mob to kill them quickly. A single Mage AoE farming has to use the chill effect of Blizzard to kite the mobs around. The problem for both is when someone “accidentally” drags 10+ mobs into them when they’ve already spent a lot of mana. People want to spam AoEs? Help them out by bringing half the zone to them and then laugh at their corpses. That’s how things worked in Vanilla.
I’m confused. Why is this an issue? Is it because people who play mages can lvl faster? Why does that matter? It’s not breaking content right? Unless I’m doing something wrong Killing stuff with my priest takes a lot longer than that and I’m still having a blast lvling. In relation to lvling, anyone know why I’m showing as lvl 13 on the forums despite being lvl 19 in game?
(Removed double post below this one.)
Night Elf Hunter must be the Human Paladin of Classic.
Back in vanilla, I levelled a shaman alt.
I levelled primarily through dungeons, because he was resto. I’d get out of a dungeon, turn around, and walk right back in with a new group. Rinse repeat. I did this all the way until like, 50 or so. At that point TBC came out (my rogue had been 60 since the first two months of vanilla, but my main alt never made it) and I just pushed through via quests.
The point is, classic levelling was designed to be ground out. The vast majority of your XP actually comes from the mobs you kill; the quests mainly supplement it / point you in the right direction. You might get 1,500 xp for turning in 10 bear asses, but with a 10% drop rate and 100 xp per mob, you actually earn 10,000 xp just from the kill element of the quest.
The primary difference is that people are more… Efficient now, because the game has been out longer. So it’s 3 mages, and warriors tanking with a ravager, rather than a more healthy mix.
World 2nd 60 was a hunter solo questing.
Learn to play.
LFM ZF WARRIOR FARM MUST HAVE RAVAGER
ZOOM ZOOM WAHOO
INV TO SPELLCLEAVE LAYER
That’s what it’s become now.
What would the fix be anyway? I suppose the threat generation could be through the roof, which would solve the dungeon problem maybe, and that wouldn’t affect solo play at all, which should be normal.
AoE farming isn’t easy at all. You’re acting like It’s some kind of bug. It’s actually very hard. Even the worlds first 60 was almost dying every single pull he made.
Get better or go back to retail imo.
Increase the diminishing returns for Frost Nova, perhaps?
