Just popped onto the PTR…it needs some iteration but I’m liking it.
You can build for burst, you can build for raw consistency.
Want to AoE? We got that
Need a single-target build? We can do that too…
Tired of the button bloat? You can go without most
Want a ton of buttons? Have fun!
Want holy on everything? We got that now
Want a burn build? We got that too
I don’t know where things will go, and they do need iteration, but it’s looking good. An AoE rotation of Judg>BoJ>DS>BoJ>DS>BoJ>DS is kind of ridiculous…

Add in the cleave from CS, it’s nuts. Will be lots of tuning to come, will be a slew of output nurfs from here.

Actually, the rotation is only possible because we now passively generate HP through our auto attacks. I don’t mention it but it’s something like Judge>BoJ>AA>DS>AA>BoJ>etc. etc.
The only reason you would need to do anything else besides those two is to reapply Judgment which now gives bonus damage to 3 HP spenders, which funnily enough also corresponds to the new DD talent.
Though I’m eyeing the Inquisitor’s Ire talent…getting a 50% damage buff on DS when you proc it off Empyrean Legacy would make for some decent burst…
I really dislike Inquisitor’s Ire. It seems to be extremely situational. Aside the occasional add wave in a raid I don’t see much value for it in PvP or Mythic +

It has good synergy with EL and ES all being 30 sec cd. But that’s just for pvp.

One of the comments in the big thread says that his single target sustain is about the same as retail, but his AoE with no cds is now 200k+, and with cds is about 400k. Obviously, tuning will still need to be done. Also, no idea what build he’s running.

They can nerf the damage massively and buff the single target at the same time.
Numbers shouldnt even be seen at this point.
The feedback we should be giving is how it feels to play, is it rewarding, are the talents meshing well together, is it mechanically broken? How does this interact with this other talent?
Tuning will come later.

Simple answer: it needs a bit of pruning and tending, but it feels real good.
Is it me or is the single target dps really low compare to the AoE dps?
I’ve been trying crusading strikes, maybe I just have trouble getting use to it, but does not feel that good.
TBH I thought it was going to remove your auto attack and give Crusader Strike a 1 GCD cooldown.
Basically, whenever you would auto attack, you cast CS instead, along with any modifiers to it.
Something like that, current one that just removes the CS button completely seems … off.
I’d be all for removing auto attack though.
As far as I can see, take the one that causes CS to strike up to 4 targets, take CS replaces AA, and the one that makes CS holystrike damage, and you now generate
hp every “AA” and auto-cleave for holy damage, which I believe works with the talent that improves AA speed. It may or may not work for the talent before Paragon.
No no, for me myself, I would have auto-attack, CS or otherwise, be removed. To me it’s just not interesting.
I could see removing AA as part of some exaggerated pruning attempt, but considering it doesn’t eat up a GCD I don’t see why you would.
Well that’s what I thought the talent did at first, was it reduced CS’s cooldown to 1 GCD, by removing auto attack.
The max 10 stacks is available every 30 seconds, the same cooldown as Empyrean Proc.
So for PvP purposes when you don’t need to be cleaving with BoJ you can guarantee one heck of a finisher combo every 30 seconds, which will generally line up with HoJ cooldown and Wake of Ashes as well. It’s A LOT of burst potential.

If it how you’re describing it, then I’m loving it. This is how talents should be. I might actually jump in and buy Dragonflight when 10.0.7 comes out.
Keep an eye on the PTR. Try it before you buy it.
