Vendor only? I have almost 3g and wondering what I can do at the moment to make more? I have mining and blacksmith. Also I want to sell to Vendors only. No AH. Thank you.
Skinning is a good source to get a little extra gold from the vendor
The market for low lvl crafting mats isn’t really there at the moment since not a lot of people are leveling alts, can also make a bank alt and level it to 5 get enchanting to DE all your BoE greens and blues that aren’t worth anything
Skinning and mining/herbing. Buy big bags and grind mobs, I guess.
You’re sort of shooting yourself in the foot if you vendor everything.
No meme? Best way to make money at your level is to just level. The mobs at your level don’t drop items of high enough vendor value to justify the time spent grinding them.
This picks up drastically in the mid 30s-40s when you can start farming cats/basilisks in SoS/STV respectively.
With mining and blacksmithing along with being level 20 and not wanting to use the auction house…you won’t make any gold unless you vendor your bars/bs crafts and get green drops
I’ll start looking at the auction house when I get greens. Thanks everyone.
Blacksmith is a huge money and timesink. Do not bother unless you’re serious about it or for purely RP purposes.
Skinning is a good way to make money. Light to Heavy leather doesn’t really sell for a lot (but still AH’able), but its definitely extra vendor money at the very least.
Also look at visiting the AH now and then. You can simply make money by buying low and selling high. You can get a good idea of prices simply by browsing the AH for specific items (don’t bother trying to read the whole market). You start noticing patterns, and can mostly predict the market.
fishing for oily blackmouth and selling them on the ah is going to net you more than anything you can get through vendoring at that level. A blackmouth school will yield four or five blackmouth, which sell for 5-15s a pop depending on what realm you’re on (the price is steadily climbing on my realm). But I don’t know why you would need gold at level 20 anyway.
Look at the stats - and also use an ah addon that will tell you vendor price, de price and ah price when you look at it. Most are better off vendored - or de’d if you have a friend to do it. Most aren’t worth the deposit on the ah because it won’t sell in 24 hrs or less, but a few with the right stats will.
I do skinning and herbing on my alts after doing it the hard way with tailor/enchant on this mage. It’s way easier to make gold not doing crafting profs. Some herbs and leathers are ah-able, the rest are vendor fodder.
Be a mage?
You don’t need gold at all until 40 for the mount.
Gold is far easier to come by in your 30s.
So, forget about it until then. I think i had 10g when i hit 30, and had exactly 90 when i dinged 40. I am skinning and herbalism and my only use of the ah was selling stuff that is going for above vendor price on the ah. A lot of skinning stuff, cloth, herbs at low levels ah for approximately their vendor price.
Not using the ah to sell anything at all is a terrible loss of gold and you’re foolish if you refuse to use it. Selling stuff using auctionator is easy, you cant mess it up.
