Anyway to go back and SKIP the Shadowlands Story?

I posted about this a while back, either I or the game screwed up and I wasn’t allowed to chose threads of fate.
I’ll take responsibility, because I may have stepped into the expansion before hitting level 60.

Anyways, my character is level 70, all I want to do is the Shadow Hunter quest line for the mogs.

Is there anyway I can still go back and skip the story, so I can jump right into the Shadow Hunter quest line, or am I SOL?

i don’t know the nature of the bug or if there is a bug. did you try talking to the fatescribe east of the inn in oribos first?
otherwise it’s a bug and i don’t know how to help you

TLDR: They removed “Threads of Fate” for anyone who steps into Shadowlands before level 60. So anyone who goes there has to do the ENTIRE quest line again.

I thought I entered after 60, but now not so much now. Either way, it’s forcing me to do the story line and all I get when talking to the FateScribe is a description of what he does.

that sucks. sorry. hope they fix it someday.

UHM…i thought they removed threads of fate period except for dracthyr.

That’s a common misconception, and the patch notes don’t help.

The Threads of Fate Campaign skip in Shadowlands is no longer available for leveling or max-level characters.

Any characters who have already chosen Threads of Fate prior to Dragonflight will be able to finish it. However, characters who never initiated Threads of Fate will be restricted only to the zone-by-zone Covenant campaign for Shadowlands.

If you already chose Threads of Fate, do not choose Chromie Time’s Shadowlands - Realms of Death. If you do switch to Realms of Death while Threads of Fate is active, you will retain most of the features of Threads of Fate, but you will lose access to World Quests until level 60.

If you’re above 60, and NEVER stepped foot in Shadowlands (Save for the random dungeon queue) and never chose Chromie Time… then you’re allowed to use threads still.

I literally just did it on my Mage, and Druid alts.

it says right there.

unless you started it on that character you cannot use it.

Trust me though, you can still do it.
I just entered this evening on my Mage Alt who I had recently re-leveled, and Ally Druid last week.
Both were given the option, my hunter was not.

dude. IT SAYS RIGHT IN THE ARTICLE. you literally just linked. you cannot do it on characters WHO HAVE NOT STARTED IT. otherwise it is A BUG. youa re NOT INTENDED TO BE ABLE TO DO IT ON CHARACTERS WHO HAVE NOT STARTED IT. the only exception to this rule are dracthyr.

As I said, anyone over level 60 can still choose Thread of Fate
I thought you couldn’t do it too, but the last post I did on the subject proved me wrong.

I just entered on my level 70 priest, who has NEVER been to ShadowLands before.
I leveled her 2 weeks ago.

I even made sure to open the calendar to prove it was done right now.

Yes, this could be the glitch but people are still able to do it if you’re above 60.

I just wish there was a way to choose it when you’re out leveled the story
Because… the story sucks!

sorry for imagining a bad story
(yes i am the bastard who thought up a lot of bfa sl and df)

I just tried on an alt that never did anything in SL. She’s level 70. No Threads of Fate offered.

Nope, it’s now part of the timeline. Get over it. If you delete this it will mess up your future… seriously haven’t you watched ‘Silence of Thunder’ or many other ‘time warping’ movies. The energy of Shadowlands… many did like and it is in their reality so it can’t be erased without ‘consequences’ … just my opinion.

Lets go all away back to the end of legion… That was really when the game ended since we haven’t had a good expansion since…

Did you just enter Shadowlands or actually start the quest line to enter?
To get TOF you have to start the quest line in your capitol city.

I just did it again on my level 61 Ally Mage

As you can see, anyone above 60 can still do it. As long as you go to your Capitol City and speak to the Death Knights to begin the quest line.

This is unfortunately what messes up the ability to choose it above level 61.

They did not.

And I’ve now done ToF on three characters ranging in level from 63 to 67 this expansion. Stop yelling.

That’s what happened to me!
Might be 61+ only, now I am going to test on my 60s.
(I level fast, and these were leveled at the end of the last XP when you could get 60lvls in 2hrs during the invasions)

Edit
Went on a level 60 DK and got in without issue, recorded it this time!
