Which points out laziness on the devs part. Instead of doing the diligence and making a proper tuning pass for classes/specs having a difficult time, they just slap a blanket nerf on the rest of players who were having fun.
Well, one would think that they would raise up the downtrodden, not shove all our faces in the mud, especially considering Torghast was billed as soloable content.
I wasnât having too much trouble on the floors themselves on level 7. It was hard, but I was doing okay.
The assassins that pop up took forever to kill as a healer.
But the guy who chain casts that âsoulâ spell at the end of the floor was dealing too much damage for me and had way too much health. I was dropping a steady 4k HPS trying to keep myself alive, only able to throw a rising sun kick in every minute or so. Basically all I could do was spam heal myself until my stun was up, get a couple attacks in, and repeat. This lasted for maybe 6 minutes before I gave up and left the instance.
This was only floor 2 on level 7 btw.
I assume if I were lucky enough to get the corrosive dosage anima power I probably couldâve climbed. But these buffs make the RNG feel absolutely terrible.
What was once fun (albeit a bit easy at times with the right powers) is now a huge frustration. It certainly ruined this content for me currently.
I did layer 6 fracture and it was⌠well, not hard, but not easy either. If I pulled too much of certain mobs, I was dead. If I didnât interrupt fears, I was dead.
The boss I got kinda fell over after two convokes, though, so thereâs that. Was the giant ghoul thing.
187ish bear.
I donât really think the Developers over all consider the players âFunâ seeing as how thatâs such a Subjective point of view. What one player finds fun another may not, so on and so forth.
I understand all to well how Torghast can be a pain for Solo players especially as Dps not fully equipped and Unable to heal them selves.
When Torghast was announced I thought it was marketed as something Solo player friendly or you could hop in it and do it with a group. The damn thing should be by design easier on solo players with the difficulty ramping up per player in a group, but from what I have read and have done with personal experience it would seem the opposite.
Hey, I feel the same way. My point I was making was that out of all the threads from Solo Dps Players complaining about the difficulty of Torghast you would always have those few players who would on them about how easy it was or go do it as a tank/healer.
After all these threads I am pretty sure the Developers took notice and decided to just lump us All together in one big âWe Donât Give aâ bag.
Yes, it appears they are no longer suffering the presence of soloers. To attack solo players directly like this is unusual, and if it is a start of a trend, well, that speaks volumes.
I was really looking forward to Running Torghast A lot and to run it with my wife. Now that I have gone in there and done it since it launched it really isnât all that fun for me.
Itâs more difficult and longer for tanks. On level 2, it took me 70 minutes to get to the end boss, 2.5 minutes to get wrecked the first time, and after 5 minutes of thinking about it, just under 2 minutes to get wrecked again (no anima shields that time).
Now that was just on level 2. Considering my ilvl, I would expect that on layer 4, maybe, but even the most unskilled, unequipped player should be able to solo layer 2. I call it severely broken.
Same problem for me. Paladin tank, works beautifully out in the world and in other play, got demolished three times by the last boss on that level. Personally I believe it is overtuned, and I generally hate saying that because the automatic reaction from me is âno, you just need to do betterâ. But in this case I truly think I did as good a job as I could, but the bossâ massive health matched with the big hitting power just eventually had me use off my cooldowns and I was toast before it got under 25%.
Iâve made 3 attempts at layer 7.
188 item level veng dh.
Got crap anima powers each time.
Farthest was on floor 5 when the floor end boss started spamming attacks (didnât Blizz just hotfix another mob that was spamming people to death?)
After the 3rd death to their spamming and enrage stacks I left torghast with no desire to return.
I was enjoying it until this week.
I enjoy a challenge, but when there is no counterplay on a repeated cast hitting for 8k with 2 interrupts that only seemed to stop 3 or 4 casts a piece⌠nope.
Wont be back until this junk is hotfixed to be countered in some way other than stupid luck on powers.
I actually like the changes, now it feels pretty fair to other specs. I just blazed through a layer 6 as fury and it felt on par with the layer 6 prot run i did
Judging by how much players seem to want to just pull big and pew pew for an easy win you would have thought warfronts and islands would have been extremely popular.
Itâs exhausting whittling down so much health with healer dps. There are no challenging mechanics â itâs just endurance, and some luck on getting in what we can pass for burst on the bosses before their soft enrage kicks in and obliterates us in two swipes.
Iâm not impressed, at all. Everything overworld is a slog for healers to get through. Carrying pugs is exhausting. The only time we get to have fun is with guild/friend groups. Was it really so bad that we had one place in the game where we could go in alone and feel cool?
Really shouldâve boosted some of the DPS classes, not doubled down on making us all miserable.
7 was exceedingly long and boring getting nothing but phantasma choices, 8 I was forced into getting mindcontrol stuff which made the normal layers a breeze since the shade spawn murders everything but made the boss borderline impossible so ultimately felt like a waste of time. Wish re-setting was quicker when by floor 3 you can basically tell your screwed not having anything that does enough damage to certain bosses.
I soloâd a 7 yesterday on my 174 Brewmaster. I got very average anima powers all the way through. It was a slog but I got it done. I havenât bothered with an 8 yet as I have alts that need attention .
Iâm not even going to bother with Torghast on my Rogue.
Bad game design is when we need to spend an hour or more getting ready for an encounter and then coming up against such a powerful obstacle, that it was all for naught.
Visions and Torghast both end up not being fun.
A challenge is good, but donât like spending a ton of time just for a fail.
It would be great if it wasnât all or nothing, perhaps a bit if currency for each boss and more for last boss.
