its an action mmo so its much harder to bot/script, if youre farming gold, youre farming gold. and there are no paid xp boosts.
of course it’s ruining TBC. this game only has a limited lifespan because of it. that doesn’t make a new MMO giving into this okay.
a new MMO needs to offer something better, not the same old crap, just trying to capitalize on it.

Thats because wow is trash, they let you boost to 58 and you can script like 5 mages at the same time, on the same screen and farm gold, there is no possible way youre doing that in new world
imagine if new world had a pay to win cash shop where you could just buy a character boost and farm gold people would be so mad hehexd

And I’m not saying it’s going to be the best game ever or that it will kill wow… but if you read my original post on this thread you’ll see that I’m tired of playing 10+ year old games in this genre and that I would play it simply because it has better graphics. Also the PvP videos I’ve seen look intense and amazing, as opposed to Rock Paper Scissors.
I’ve been playing vanilla / tbc / wrath over and over again for 5 years and I started playing wow in January of 2005, I’ve played SWG pre cu private servers, TOR, ESO, phantasy star online…, the list goes on… I just want something new that is half decent so I don’t have to play a 16 year old game.
I love wow and always will, I’m just interested in something new.

judging from them already offering pay2win in the shop, it’s only a matter of time until they directly sell boosts and worse, item upgrades etc.
well that’s fine, but you will probably have a lonely experience there. that is my prediction.
there are only cosmetics in the shop until mid 2022

Honestly I probably won’t, I play wow with a lot of people on a daily basis and pretty much every person in my discord bought new world on steam and are very excited to play something new at least for a little while. I will have plenty of people to play new world with and it will be fun even if the game sucks. 40 bucks is 40 bucks, even if I play it for 10 hours 40 bucks is worth it to me based on my salary.
and they wanted to have pay2win in the shop on day 1, but they had to give in to pressure from potential customers not to.

i hope they keep the food in the beta so people can experience later parts of the game during the trial, that was the whole point.
Would blizzard have done the same? Would blizzard have delayed their faulty product for a year in order to make changes? Or would blizzard have launched with a laundry list of known issues and complaints and then proceeded to “fix” them over the course of an entire expansion just to scrap them once they are remotely playable in order to sell another box for 40-60$ with a whole new mess of in game systems that require them to “fix” over that expansion?
I’m not saying this game is going to be good, but honestly it would have to be unplayable for it to not be better than the current iteration of wow / raid logging in tbc classic.
