Is anyone else bored while waiting for new allied races they want to play/level alts with?
I personally am waiting for the vulpera to level a bunch of alts but that doesn’t look like it’s happening any time soon. I’ve been taking a semi-break. Still raiding, but interests lay in other games or hobbies atm.

It has been a very long and frustrating wait for any form of new allied race announcements. I hope we get something soon and not be made to wait until Blizzcon in November to get any allied race announcements. x- x

At this point, the prospect of more allied races is the only thing keeping me interested. I’m waiting for vulpera too, still desperately holding out hope for sethrak, and even getting fairly excited for junker gnomes–but Blizz, you’ve got to give me something more than Kul Tirans to level. I’m dying here.

Has anyone else considered taking a break from BFA until next xpac and then unlocking the allied races later? Seems like we’re only getting allied races from prepatch BFA and BFA only.
Only reason I’m not though is b/c I’d be too lazy to grind the reps and quests later.

I like that allied races have become a central gameplay feature for a lot of people.

I want more races, only because I was more chances to make rogues.
No.
I like the slow release schedule for these, especially where unlock requirements are listed - and to large extent, achievable - prior to the race being available.
I wouldn’t bet on any race, before it is announced, far less reserve slots for class/race combinations that may never happen.
I take long breaks, too. Of existing ARs, I so far have Nightborne and Void Elves. Of those I haven’t unlocked, Highmountain Tauren is the only one that really appeals to me, so that is next. I’ll probably sacrifice my lvl 40-something Troll Druid to open a character slot, when I do.
As far as unannounced races? Not even going to guess, much less invest myself emotionally on what I think it will be like to play them.
Given the divide between Nightborne NPCs as we meet them in Legion, and the reality of the AR execution, I think that is a path to sure disappointment.

I’m taking a break until 8.2 actually comes out, so I feel refreshed. In the meantime, I am trying to plan a player event in Orgimmar called “March of the Stonemaul Clan” to support playable Horde Ogres in the near future, so I’m still having fun with the game.
When 8.2 does comes out, I plan to go through it, do stuff for pathfinder 2, and stuff that might be required for potential allied races, like exalted reps. Then I’ll likely take another break until new allied races get announced with their requirements shown.

You know playing the game as one race isn’t any different than playing it as another, right? If you’re bored, take a break. If you like leveling alts, then level one. Can always race change later if you really want to, but if leveling another alt is fun to you to begin with, I suspect you’ll just do it again when whatever races come out later.

Don’t get your hopes up too much. It is very possible they neither may ever be playable.
For you, maybe not. But there are those of us who see each of our toons as individual characters and enjoy thinking of gameplay as a story we are telling with them, and I am one of those people. It very much matters to me what race each of my toons is and feels like a very different experience playing each one.
I know, I know. It’s a bad idea to get too invested in the idea of any particular unconfirmed race, but it’s tough not to. You’re right, though.

Personally I’d rather them slow down and take a break from adding new ones. This over saturation of races is absurd to me and having every two legged creature they add to the game be either horde or alliance kinda makes the world a little more dull imo. I like have various factions and groups. Not everyone belonging to two.
Obviously it’s subjective and i’m happy for the people that love the mass influx of races. Personally I’d rather just 1 per faction per xpac at most. Every other xpac would be preferred.

I wait for them. But it doesnt stop me from lvling my other alts.
I tend to enjoy pvp in overwatch. Its the most like Legion pvp which I miss and wish we had more time with the templates. They were the most alt friendly.

No, since I don’t think there are any.

I’m actually convinced we haven’t heard anything because they RUSHED back to the drawing board on what to announce.
Alliance clearly is getting Junker Gnomes… it’s pretty much unofficially announced with the various datamined model variants and special animations.
They wanted to give Vulpera to the Horde, however they were too exciting to announce alongside Junker Gnomes in comparison, especially with Alliance so unenthusiastic about their ARs generally.
But Horde’s still getting another goblin skeleton, because of course we are. Get ready for gilblins, with just the right amount of unpopularity! =D
I haven’t even unlocked Zandalari trolls yet let alone unlock any heritage armours on horde. Pretty sure Ion wants to focus on endgame at the moment.
Not really. Until they start actually finishing them before release. Don’t need another unfinished with major issues half baked AR.

Uhh, what if Vulpera never becomes an allied race? What will you do with your life then?

The healing power of rp.
It can be the race that makes the class/spec have spice.
Example. I love my night warrior skinned ne Druid. Most of that is rp fun. I like feral. Swing by our class forum this is not the easiest spec to love sometimes. Enters that rp. They done pissed off the wrong cat.
Other druids to me would not have the same motivations. Horde side especially.
They are like my demon hunters. Locked behind crap mechanics. Ie 2 faction crap. My ztroll Druid would happily be alliance associated. Cenarius is my boss. Not the queen or the dark lady.
My ne doesnt have this conflict. So between the 2 druids I run she is the best. More solid rp to have on her via her race rp.

Proven power of RP as witnessed. Technically gnomes cannot be demon hunters. However I certainly feel like one when I play this character.
