Seems to be ok and running at 60 FPS until a very little bit of stutter that lasts like 1 or 2 seconds. I wonder why it does that at all when this game is not graphically intense.
It is the CPU.
Runs on one core and really bogs it down.
Whenever I look at my CPU usage, it says all 4 are being used, but it’s only using like 20% of the CPU total. I don’t see how this is a CPU issue. Many people loaded in a world pvp fight or raid, then yeah I could see if it was CPU, but this doesnt make sense.
What’s your CPU/GPU? I run a 4k monitor, 60 FPS on graphic preset 7, with a GTX 1070 and AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and haven’t noticed that issue. Check your drivers, maybe they need an update?
They added multi-core support a while back.
I haven’t run 4k in a while, I started running 1440p for more fps.
I’m a fps fiend though.
Everything is 60 FPS, just with a stutter here and there that feels weird and makes no sense. My specs far surpass the WoW requirements. I’m on a 3rd generation i7, 16 GB of RAM, and a highly overclocked GTX 1060
Let’s say your drivers are all updated and your CPU / amount of RAM can handle WoW just fine (which it should, curious on the exact model of your CPU though), the other potential issue could be addons. Have you tried disabling them and testing?
The difference between our CPU’s when it comes to games is not very much at all. In fact nearly identical in some situations. Yes I am CPU and GPU overclocked also. I will update the drivers but I just have this gut feeling it won’t make a difference. We will see. Don’t get me wrong its very very playable. Just wonder why a stutter happens here and there and then goes away completely, then comes back again. Only at 4k does this happen, and only with World of Warcraft…
Not sure about 1060s when it comes to 4k. Even though this game isnt that intensive, it may be worth looking at the graphics resources through afterburner or something of the sort to make sure the card isnt contributing.
It may also point you in the direction of what is causing it to monitor the cards memory usage, utilization, mem. speed, core clock, voltage etc.
See if any of those drop or spike during the stutter.
It could be any number of things causing it.
I don’t have any addons except for raider io . When I use a graphics monitor program it says it’s only using 28% of GPU power or sometimes like 32% @ 4k. Guess I’ll find out if driver updates help. It’s been a little while. Like 8 months since updating.
Helped me a ton. I switched from Uber to Lyft and it made a world of difference.
I played wow on a 4k monitor with a 1080 (not ti) and I had similar issues. I ended up lowering the graphic settings to where I felt it wasn’t worth playing at 4k so I built the wife a rig with a 2080ti and gave her the 4k monitor and went and bought me a 3440x1440 ultrawide and I really wish I started out with this monitor. Well worth it over 4k imo.
Yeah the 1440p or 4k feels really really sharp right now and I’m loving it. I noticed if I downclocked my graphics card, the stutter is much worse. I see now that it must be a graphics issue and not a CPU one. I’m gonna update drivers from Nvidia but likely it will barely make any difference. Still loving the 60 FPS just wish that micro-stutter would go away
I tried 4k but I don’t sit close enough to my display to see the difference from 1080p. It ran fine at 4k though. BTW try turning off vsync, I had problems with stuttering in ESO until I turned off vsync.
I’m right up in my TV’s grill burning my eyes, so I can see a huge difference. I thought I wouldnt, but it makes it less grainy and edges out some roughness. Feels nice like looking at 8k and 4k videos on it is even better. I’m too sensitive to screen-tearing so I never turn off V-Sync though
4K is 2160 not 1440. Not sure if that’s what you were implying though.
Yea I would actually leave it on and cap your frames in wow at 57. (provided your 4k is 60hz)
No, because 4K is stupid. Not giving up FPS/GlideSmoothFPS for slightly larger screen size when I run 2K
2K (1440p) is the sweet spot and most gamers are finding that to be true between size and performance, as well… COST with Hz increase.
4K Too hot
2K Juuuust right
1K too cold
I remember people purchasing 4K monitors and dropped down from 1080p 60FPS to 20FPS and going “ALRIGHT!” idiots…
4K FTL
Yeah I know that. My 4k TV is @ 2160. I’m saying that 1440p and 4k are much better than 1080p. Both are good. I just turned the resolution scaling down to 83% of 4k, and it runs perfect with zero stutter now.
Ahh, good ole’ World of Warcraft.
Runs on anything
Runs well on nothing
I get 300 to 500 frames per second in Doom Eternal with super ultra or whatever its called.
World of Warcraft regularly drops below 100 FPS. Makes no sense.
This is gonna sound weird, but put view distance down to 9 instead of 10. That fixed a weird stutter issue for me, while leaving everything else on max.
