Anyone running 5070ti and 9800x3d?

Any running this combo:

5070ti and 9800x3d

Thinking about getting it and curious on WoW performance, specifically FPS in Dornogal max settings.

TY!

It will run amazing together. I am on a simular build myself. Im on a 9950x3D and a RTX 4090.

World of Warcraft is a cpu-bound game. So it’s heavily dependent on CPU and RAM speed over GPU choice which is the reverse of most games. However Ram speed really doesn’t matter as much on the X3D cpu due to the exceptionally large cache. The Large V-cache acts as a dedicated RAM buffer reducing the need for data transfers from system memory.

Just find the decent 6000mhz-6200mhz kit that is on your motherboard’s qvl list. Also make sure the ram is an Expo kit. Just enable Expo and set your ratio to 1:1 Manually then call it a day.

For example if your ram is 6000mhz then 1:1 is set FCLK 2000 and set UCLK=MEMCLK in your Bios in the Ram Timings section. If you get 6200mhz then you would set FCLK to 2066 instead. Thats 1:1

Since you asked about Dorn specifically here is my average FPS in Dorn @4k Max Settings on Stormrage Server at Prime Time

That is very kind of you to get back to me and provide an image. Thank you so so much good sir!

I am thinking this will be my final build.

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core 16-Thread
  • GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB GDDR7
  • Motherboard: GIGABYTE B850 GAMING WIFI6
  • RAM: Kingston FURY Beast 32GB (8GBx4) DDR5 5600
  • SSD: Kingston M.2 2280 2TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe
  • CPU Cooler: GAMDIAS AURA GL240 V2, 240mm AIO Liquid Cooler
  • PSU: ABS 750W ATX 2.0 80+ Gold ATX PSU

Negatory Ghostrider.
Cant use that PSU you need ATX 3.0 and PCIE 5.0 compatible.

As for the motherboard. No Q-Code reader. Its a must in my book. Trust me if anything ever goes wrong you will be thankful you have it. If anything ever goes wrong it will give you a code so you know exactly which component is causing the issue.

2 things you never cheap out on is your motherboard and PSU.
Motherboard id recommend which is your best bang for your buck.

PSU (this is one of the best on the market also comes with individually braided cables and a native 12vhpwr port for your new 5070 ti) :ok_hand:

the new cards 3000 series and up have a new port. Its a 12vhpwr port. The Seasonic PSU I listed is 850w it also has a native 12vhpwr port so no adapter cables needed. Its ATX 3.0 and pcie 5.0 compatible. 750w is minimum bare bones for the 5070 ti. Never go with minimum.

as shifty stated, you will run the snot out of the game and most others

ABS is newegg’s PC building “boutique” to go against other other’s like HP Omen or Dell Alienware. While ABS did recently release (rebrand) a PSU it;s usually neweggs other brand Rosewill that will release (rebrand) PC parts. Also Intel’s ATX 2.0 spec for PSU came out in 2003. I don’t think that PSU is ATX spec 2.0 but rather ATX 12VO 2.0 which would 1) make sense and 2) means the PSU does have a 12VHPWR cable. Now I’m not saying the PSU is good, bad or anything in between as I stated above not 100% sure what that PSU is or if it’s even under the ABS brand. Also not saying go out and spend money especially if you “do” have a modern PSU but you need to double check on it before any decision is made by you. You may want to do a visual inspection on the PSU to see if it is under the ABS brand or check the units UL number to see who actually built it (it wasn’t ABS or newegg as that is not their business).

great PSU! but currently the Corsair RMx ATX 3.1 is $20 cheaper, has a better pin out on the header (AKA 12V-2Ă—6 cable) and performs just as well.

I’m just nitpicking for those people who are reading this. If Nvidia states the 750w PSU or better is recommended for the 5070ti that recommendation needs to cover all those mediocre and below PSU that may not even be able to do 750w in a hot box. So you are way better off getting a 750w quality PSU than a 850w+ shenzen special that may actually do damage to your new RTX 5070ti. With a 9800X3D & 5070ti, the user would be around 450w gaming so a quality ATX 3.X would handle it plus any spikes. 850w would give you some headroom and help out on fan noise in most PSU.

Excellent thank you for this thoughtful response.

100%

PSU wise? Just be smart and go with a good brand that backs their products such as the
Corsair RM850x Lilybugg suggested or the Seasonic Vertex GX-850. Im just partial to the Seasonic because it comes with Individually Braided Cables which is normally something you have to get aftermarket cables for.

Both have a 10 yr Warranty and are easy to deal with when it comes to RMAs.

OK so you are not building, you are purchasing the ABS Stratos Ruby Gaming PC AMR9800X3D5070 for $2,200

that’s fine buying a PC is makes sense if you don’t want to build, I prefer to build but I also understand why people just want to buy something and game

there are no pics of the PSU in any of their promo pics (probably for good reason) or even ebay with people selling the part
my advice is the PSU will work but probably capable enough to just cover the warranty of the PC. Most likely it’s built by someone like ATNG (or equivalent) in terms of quality. If my friend asked my about this PC I would simply say, “sure go ahead but realize you need to start saving for a better PSU which is fairly easy to upgrade by yourself. The parts will all work and perform for you but I would not call them impressive for the price just typical of this type of assembler.”

Cool! I am going to find one with a better PSU. Please stay tuned.
