Man that talent seriously made holy so fun. I felt POWERFUL when it would proc. For those that don’t know what it is, Heal and Prayer of Healing had a 40% chance to reset the cooldown of Prayer of Mending and cause it to jump instantly. I’m not sure why they haven’t made something similar to this as a legendary in Shadowlands or even just as the regular talent.
It was FUN and wow is missing some of that fun for me…
Do you remember Divine Aegis? Holy cow I felt really powerful then and I didn’t have to play into Blizzard’s esport agenda by having to damage throughout fights either.
Oh my, I remember in WoD when we had that tier gear that gave PoM 4 extra charges and we had Divine Insight. It would bounce like CRAZY and it was SO fun! lol I really wish they would bring that style back. I feel like it’d solve LOTS of glaring problems for holy as well.
I loved it! I remember stacking haste almost as much as I stacked spirit and used that talent in combo with others to create a burst healing build that really rocked. When they started nerfing Holy’s Burst healing, that was one of the first things to go. I also miss Cascade. MW Monks still have a chi version of Cascade.
Between Flash heal insta-cast proccing, Cascade, and that PoM burst, it all felt powerful. Holy has never been the same since Blizz broke that all up.
Self-revive is nice. Wonder if it’d work in arenas?

I would love if they brought back divine insight as a talent. It would pair well with renewed faith and benediction as well as the PoM conduit (which brings back a mechanic that used to be baseline). I threw it out there in the beta priest sticky the other day also for whatever good that will do.
I think replacing light of the naaru would be a good spot for it. That talent is extremely boring and lackluster and now redundant with a new conduit (holy oration) that does the same thing. They could buff the conduit a bit if they want you to be able to achieve that higher % without having to take both.
Throwing a PoM themed legendary on top of those 3 talents would be amazing also. Especially since all the existing priest legendaries are mostly lackluster and boring. Harmonious Apparatus would pair well with divine insight if they didn’t add another legendary, but making the WoD PoM set bonus someone mentioned above into a new legendary sounds like it would be amusing with divine insight.
Other old PoM modifiers from sets/artifact would be neat also such as chance to not use a charge when it bounced or this old set bonus:
“Your Prayer of Mending has a 10% chance to split when it bounces, healing an additional target nearby.” which was also part of a set that did: " Set (Holy): You gain 2% haste for 15 sec when Prayer of Mending bounces. This effect can stack up to 3 times."
another interesting one: (2) Set : Your Prayer of Mending heals for 10% more each time it jumps to a new target.
I also think it’d be neat if they made Divine Hymn make PoM bounce again like it did in Legion.
This is terrible. I’ve seen countless videos of people who didn’t play Holy in Legion saying “This looks so fun!”
It isn’t fun, it’s dull and underwhelming. Every once in a while (it’s till a random proc you can’t control) a Naaru appears and just floats there and replicates your heals but at like 1/10th the strength. It was extremely crappy in Legion, and it’s still crappy in Shadowlands.
Mediocre at best. Each of these abilities is around a 10 sec CD on their own, so it is 4 seconds off a CD every 10 seconds, if everything is used on CD. This also assumes you are using your Holy Words on CD and still getting full value from them, which isn’t always the case.
The fact that this wasn’t in their initial release of Legendaries and it took us all creating a massive uproar to get this instead of the Alabaster Lady (one of our worst Legion legendary) show how out of touch the Holy Design team is with the spec/playerbase

If I’m not mistaken, at a full stack it makes Heal have the same HPS as Flash Heal. So it just means you won’t go OOM if you ever have to focus heal the tank for longer than a few seconds. Not very useful either.
Besides X’anshi’s (which to reiterate, is only a legendary because of The Holy Priest’s Community outrage at the design mediocrity of the dev team) the Holy Legendaries are just terrible. They are giving us the worst things from Legion and expect us to be excited to have them back.
At least we aren’t as bad as Holy Paladin, who’s best legendaries are the ones design for Ret.
I just want Divine Insight back baseline. That proc just makes you feel so powerful as a healer, and it was such a fun visual too, with it bouncing between everyone so quickly.
And even if the numbers were good, it would still be bad. Extra heals on an unreliable proc chance result in overheals when they go off and people dying when they don’t.
You are mistaken. At full stacks it gives Heal substantially more HPS than Flash Heal.
PTR/Beta Flash Heal heals for 1.35 sp/sec at a cost of 2.4% base mana/sec
Heal w/ 5 stacks of Flash Concentration heals for 1.70 sp/sec at a cost of 1.2% base mana/sec
So this one is at least decent for single-target healing.
I’m still unclear why people were so insistent that they be allowed to use their one legendary slot on something that does literally nothing for you unless you die. I’d rather have legendaries that make me more effective when I’m alive, because that way I’ve got better odds of not dying in the first place (and making everyone else not die).
It’s extremely effective in progression Raiding. Holy Priests lacks meaningful defensives so you tend to die to things that barely bring other classes to 50% hp. So you get a Cheat Death that can save you from the occasional burst damage mechanic you don’t have Damage Reduction to Survive, as well as allowing you to cheese some mechanics. And with the Afterlife Talent you get 15 Seconds of Mana Free Casting, and it used to reset Potion CDs, so you could get 2 Mana Pots in an encounter, though I think the new 5 min Pot cd makes that part useless.
I remember it being particularly convenient during Mythic Star Auger in Legion, as you could just stand in the Green fire in Phase 2, Die and just float there and Heal while other classes were running in circles dropping their pools.
Mythic Raids and High M+ have some mechanics that just kill you as a Holy Priest without a Damage Reduction external from another Player. It’s why you see so many Forum Posts about us wanting any kind of personal damage reduction, we are getting really sick of mechanics that one shot us without us being able to do anything about it. Especially since Guardian Spirit doesn’t protect you from “massive” damage (which is like twice your hp, a far cry from what the word massive means), which makes it useless as a Cheat Death in almost every situation you would want it.
