Since I do not raid (it’s a time thing) I find myself playing WoW as a single player game. I moved all my toons to one server, found a guild that is small but friendly, probably will never raid. We help each other but for the most part we just do our own thing. Maybe a few of us group for dungeons.
Some think it’s a waste of money but I am getting everything else out of the game. There was a time when players of higher levels or better geared would swoop by, throw a buff or heal, or maybe help you smack that mob down. Not so much anymore though I still do the deed.
I don’t do retail anymore and no plans to ever go back. I like the old maps and IF they drop Pandaland, I may stay for that. We’ll see.
I would love too, but you can’t without having multiple characters. I was hoping they would allow all hardcore players to do each profession, but I am dumb and thought blizzard would do something intelligent and put effort into making a good game.
Think a lot of people do. Most MMO players don’t raid. They want an open world to immerse into. They want to explore the zones, quest, work on professions, farm gold, Role play etc.
I think the true endgame is Solo play. The main reason I do Heroics, Raid or Arena is for powerful gear for playing Solo. Raiding is an antiquated aspect of WoW and don’t think it should be that big a focus. The game really starts when you are finished Raiding/Dungeons and in BiS gear.
Doing a dungeon is okay in a group but it’s way more fun Solo. I love doing content Solo with a cup of coffee and enjoying the game. Although I’m a big ARPG player so it likely stems from that. Think MMO’s need to intergrate more ARPG philosophies.
If you enjoy it and you feel you are getting your money’s worth, then I say keep going. Who cares what anyone else thinks. Your money your decision to spend it on what you want!
I never raid outside of when they implemented raid finder. I just have a hard time committing to an exact time with how my life goes. I know people freak out about raid finder but it is nice for people who are in the same boat.
Yea I’m 351ilvl on my Prot War in PvP gear with some 359 PvE items sprinkled in. I love doing crazy insane pulls in open World solo farming then someone attacks me and I roll over them as if they were another trash mob. Or casually mining and killing anyone that goes after my nodes.
This wouldn’t be possible if I didn’t grind so I can enjoy the End game of my Solo content.
