Anyone play WoW in split mode?

i mean with split screen not meaning you have 2 monitors setup i mean you have 1 monitor and split it. or i guess this can be said for 2 monitors as well.

i am running an ultra wide; i heavily upgraded my setup when my last im assuming just burnt out due to overheating ( lack of maintenance on my end pretty much tons of dust build up and what not ).

anyways i often listen to youtube vids in the background and get tired since i want to watch them as well so decided to split my screen like 75% WoW 25% youtube or w.e.

i am wondering though does it get any easier in terms of playing/watching or like does it just always feel awkward? im running the samsung G9 monitor don’t remember the specs or anything but i had this issue since it’s my first decent monitor in general but i got used to the width and all that when playing but just recently started to do split screen

I have one monitor that’s a 27". That’s all for me!

I have multiple monitors because I am not a heathen.

And I have never played the game in window mode. So yes, it’s always on a full screen, and the other I use for everything else. Does it look/perform better in window mode?

I’ve thought about. Would be easier to stream stuff when I remember to turn that on, but it’s nice to have the extra space.

If you put wow into windowed mode, set the approximate resolution, and expand out the size as you need to fit half of your screen, while keeping your browser at the size it needs to be on the other side… It is possible.

A wee bit awkward to set up though.

What I have and do is I have a big main monitor that I invested a bit into, then went to best buy and got a cheaper but moderately size monitor I use to browse the internet and the like. I personally find windowed wow to be very awkward, and like having one big and small monitor to work with.

Same concept, I run my game in a 32" monitor and then have a smaller 22" on the side for things like Netflix or Youtube running.

Monitors don’t usually require any maintenance. They just die eventually from use. That’s why I turn mine off when I’m not using my computer. No point in wasting the longevity of my screen’s light source. The monitor I got in 2009 only lasted 5 years. The tech back then wasn’t great.

Edit: I’ve never had one “burn out”. They always started flickering.

I am the same as some of the above, I run a 32" curved for my main fullscreen gameplay and have a separate 27" for discord/wowhead/forums and sometimes Netflix/youtube. I just picked up an arm for my 27" that rotated it to portait orientation and am finding it far too large for my liking being up/down so I think Ill sell it and pick up a 24" or even a 21" for the side monitor. My neck doesnt like moving around that much haha.

plays the same i believe at least for my setup but idk it just looks weird with it slightly scaled down to fit the other tab. i personally don’t mind it but yea idk it just feels weird playing and trying to watch a vid kinda at the same time. but idk if i get used to it or what

I would love to get another monitor but my current one is old and awesome and discontinued. If I do a dual monitor it would to be two identical ones or it would really annoy me.

Yes I am crazy.

not my monitor my tower. my last monitor runs still but it’s cheap picked it up long ago. my room gets super dusty and yea i didn’t clean my tower over the many years so im guessing it just eventually overheated the cpu or something. started to have issues down the line and i knew it was going so i just let it go. couldn’t salvage anything otherwise the tower itself was pretty bad shape would of been cheaper just to buy new one then to refurbish that one.

can’t speak for ultrawide, but it’s not too bad on the dual monitor setup that I’m running

I do because sometimes I need to craft like 4000 of something and it takes an hour or I have to keep hitting a button endlessly to perform some task so I’ll have wow reaaaaaaaaally tiny and then have something else I’m actually paying attention to large and I’ll just click the wow window and hit a key continuously while reading a PDF or something.

Engaging gameplay!

Ebay?

yea i think next time im in the market for a new monitor i will just end up buying 2 smaller ones. likely wont be for a LONG… time otherwise though. or i’d just buy a smaller one for WoW and use the big one for youtube and maybe other stuff like twitch or something

OMG, same. I have two 27" monitors I bought at different times from Walmart, but luckily they had the same one in stock both times.

I want a third, but they probably won’t have it any more.

Not at all. Some people (myself included) would be thrown off by the different visuals. I actually used to use two monitors that were wildly different and it definitely messes with your eyes.

That’s not a bad idea. Will have to check tonight when I get home.
