I was just curious about something and was hoping someone could weigh in on a question.
When you first boot up PoE, does it give you a starter character? Something premade? I ask, because when I logged on the first time, I had a character already made, named Blotty. I never played this game before and I didn’t make this character. I was very confused by this, because when I Googled that name in relation to PoE, no results.
It got me thinking that maybe my Steam got hacked and someone was playing games on it, so it’s much more secured now. I reset my password and added an authenticator and checked the mobile app to make sure no other devices were logged in. I’m really hoping someone here can put to bed the SUPER GROSS idea that someone was on my Steam this whole time.
I wouldn’t have jumped to this conclusion, but it said the game already had 15 minutes of playtime before I ever first installed it, as well as a few hours played on Neverwinter, and I never once played that game.
I’m kinda spooped tbh.
It’s been out a long time. Maybe you made a char like 10 years ago and forgot.
I most certainly never did. My memory is freakishly accurate and I would have remembered making a character.
My question wasn’t whether or not I made a character, it was whether or not you start off with a starter character.
If you’re telling me that you don’t start with one, then I most definitely was hacked and the hacker was installing games outside of my library, though since I logged into PoE with Steam, it showed me his old character.
Honestly, I’m more insulted and bothered that this guy only played for 15 minutes and then quit. What a coward. This game is amazing and I’m only 7 hours in, since yesterday. He should have really stuck to it. I guess he’ll just have to get his own account and try again.
At this point I think I’m more likely waiting for Path of Exile 2. I never really got into PoE. My brother has thousands of hours into the game and keeps telling me to get into it but after watching a few streams and it looks like you just spam one button over and over again.
I could be wrong but watching some dude leaping all over the screen and it fill up with loot just looks boring in my opinion.
More or less.
I mean that’s pretty much how D4 is too. ARPGs aren’t super complicated in their gameplay, just their systems, especially PoE.
I am actually kinda butthurt about PoE right now, because I finished the game and the last 2-3 acts were not a pleasant experience. I hated every moment of it. I won’t spoil anything, but there’s a part of the game that detriments your character severely, and I just assumed that after I beat the game, the detriment would get reversed, but no, it gets doubled.
I’m pretty about it.
