Anyone on beta feel like monks were pruned way too much?

Maybe I’m just biased and in the process of adjustomg to disruption, but after copying my build onto beta, I noticed half my bars are empty now. Rotations feel very dumbed down. So, so, so, many passives.

Nah, I welcome my cleaned up keybindings and rotations.

Brewmaster definitely needed a pruning. That spec played like a piano

You don’t even consistently clear heroic yet you’re talking about rotations being dumbed down (which is very arguable).

All of the monk specs had bind bloat

I was pretty much already playing with as few abilities as possible because there were just too many to remember.

I think the only things they’ve really removed (as active abilities) are bonedust brew, chi wave, and in some instances rushing jade wind. And expel harm for WW.

All of those abilities I was just press on CD anyway.

WW was more or less totally global locked anyway.

Brew definitely was.

Gives us space to use trinkets without interrupting our rotation now.

Most the of stuff they cleaned up were not abilities I enjoyed pressing honestly lol.

honestly missing expel harm and wish they gave us chi burst + chi wave.

it’d be nice to get some cool chi spells that actually do damage.

I’m not sure if you’re talking about Windwalker, but the priority and rotation is almost exactly the same.

What may be making it feel “pruned” is that there’s a HUGE difference in resources in current DF and Beta TWW, so its a lot less “spammy” unless you aim to take the talents to maximize Chi generation.

Missing EH is probably the biggest “feel”, but that will just take some getting used to, and if we can get away from using Hit Combo then it really won’t be super different.

For me the biggest difference is the loss of Power Strikes to give the 3rd Chi for Fists of Fury.

I don’t see much of a difference between live and TWW Windwalker, but I take most of the active abilities because I like lots of buttons. It feels unnatural not having Expel Harm as its own keybind, though.

Agreed. The loss of Power Strikes feels bad.

It’s really the only concrete thing I can point to as a problem. Everything else is still in the “not sure if I need to get used to it” camp. Missing that 3rd Chi will take getting used to, but it’s something I’m positive I don’t like.

How does the increased TP energy cost feel? The change sounded terrible when they announced it. Can’t imagine it feels good to play. Especially in prolonged AoE.

It’s just been part of dealing with less resources, it doesn’t feel specifically problematic and you can adjust by taking other talents to mitigate it.

And I was the Mozart :sunglasses:

Haha cooked. This is me as well, but I also am not providing monk feedback.

Having heroic clears for every expansion is a ridiculous validation whether one should be providing feedback to a class. Especially considering bloating wasn’t an issue for monks in previous expansion until the talent revamp in Draongflight. I wasn’t even aware of that reply was referring to me considering I’ve cleared the heroics in dragonflight.

Not really for MW. Im at -2 abilities off my bars so far going from DF to TWW, which I am kinda okay with.

I am going to miss dampen harm somewhat but the new talent tree for TWW has other ways to beef our defensives. -1 ability

Essence Font is replaced by Celestial Conduit for me ( I plan to do MW/Coduit ) So that bind will just be replaced for me. Not sure how I feel about EF being removed. If healing is buffed to compensate for the lost interaction between 2xmastery/EF, and Celestial Conduit is any good - it’s whatever for me, one less thing to do before bursting, which is a big positive in m+, but feels bad for raiding imo. -1ability but +1ability

I took Chi Burst off my bars/talents for TWW. I am glad to see they reworked chi wave into a passive that procs off vivify/RSK. Pressing chi burst felt clunky and I am kinda glad I can forget about pressing both buttons. -1 ability

Passive Zen pulse might make me want to check it out in TWW because it’s one less bind now too. :3

“rotations feel dumbed down”

when the rotational buttons are essentially the same and cuts are mostly util is a very silly comment, especially when you likely werent performing remotely close to well previously

I’m happy about the pruning. WW I had just enoug keybinds, MW and had so many that I had to use F1-F4 to fit them all, and Brewmaster was the worst spec of all with how many buttons it needed, it rivaled my hunter and that’s saying something.
