Anyone mind helping me with an SSD?

The motherboard i have is HP omen 870-ipm17-002.

I’m not seeing a “sata” slot or anything. If someone is willing to help me I’ll make it worth your while. I’ll send you a pic of my motherboard if necessary as well. Thank you, sorry if this is the wrong forum.

I find it hard to believe any motherboard doesn’t have any SATA spots. Do you have the motherboard manual?

I’m not familiar with HP boards but it shows sata ssd and hdds connected so you should be ok.

EDIT: Sorry the forums aren’t working for me very well. :stuck_out_tongue:

Board has three sata connectors so you could use several! These are used already at the start for the SSD/HDD in some builds of the machine.

(Thaeron is correct - I was going off the product page where it advised that the HDD/SDD were connected by sata so I assumed atleast two)

Should be fine to use those.

:face_vomiting: that base model 5600rpm hdd

Your mother board will have a small outlet to plug a SATA cable into. If the link from Onoswun is your motherboard it looks like you have 3 SATA outlets. The SATA jack looks like a rectangle with an L inside of it.

Heres a link to the SATA headers on your board.

https://ibb.co/BsMr3Y9 - They should look like this. If you can upload an image of your specific mobo, I’m sure we could spot them. But hopefully that helps a bit

They have USB 3.0 to SSD / 2.5-Inch SATA I/II/IIIHard Drive Adapters at Amazon for like, 8.99

I don’t think there’d be an issue with any 2.5 inch SSD being sold at the moment so you should be all set. Installation is pretty straightforward but I always like watching a few YouTube videos before doing anything because yay anxiety B)
