Maybe it will change when the xpac launches, and I haven’t touched the beta but I just don’t feel as excited for this next expansion. I like the qol changes we have now in pre patch, like all the account wide stuff but it just feels like another season instead of something new? For some reason delves sounds like bfa pirate thing that they promised was some replayable content. Dragon flying was a big change in dragonflight and basically getting rid of borrowed power which was a good thing.
Am I the only one not that excited about launch?

I’m sure others feel like you. I am more excited than I was for Shadowlands and Dragonflight. We’ll see how it turns out. That Metzen interview got me hopeful they are going places with the story finally.

That’s how I felt for all of Dragonflight. Each expansion kind of hits different for different players basically which is why the population fluctuates I think.

atm i’m playing season of discovery and thats fun enough for me. not really sure if i’ll even touch the new retail expansion. seems iunno…meh?

Yeah it really does just feel like a new season.
I mean im enjoying wow right now so thats not a bad thing. But it could use some more spice.
Idk some interesting gimmick beyond new talents and what is basically Scenario M+.

I’m like 0 hype. Like literally 0. Flat out 0. It just feels like season 5 of wow.
I purchased the basic version for the first time and will probably play the expansion veeeeery casually.
They will lose subscribers with this exp for sure.

Yea I am excited for the large underground cave of the Nerubian empire. Seems like the dev team is very excited for it as well since they gained lot of expierence from DF carvern.
Delves looking fun to me as well.

I’ve been meh about expansion launches for many years.
I like new raids and dungeons so that keeps me coming back, but it’s hard to get hyped over the same game for 20 years.

Retail is horribly formulaic now. 4 zones 8 dungeons and one new raid. I so wish they would switch things up. I’m so tired of content like M+ being the dominate thing to do in the game. Delves are just another boring and repetitive system they can keep recycling.
I feel like the game is in some kind of maintenance mode. I would love to see some new leadership at the helm of the game. Ion just sucks.

timegates conditioned me to never be hyped anymore.
as soon as im starting to enjoy myself ill faceplant against a timegate. that cycle will keep happening again and again until suddenly im in season 4 and I realize there wasnt much hype at all since it was given so slowly and in small quantities.

I am excited because this summer has been a huge content drought for my main games I play and nothing really of interest came out. I also play New World and that game has been in a content drought for a long while now and nothing till Oct which even then not much new stuff for existing players. Throne & Liberty isn’t launching now until Oct 1.
So yeah. I am hyped for the expansion so I can finally play one of my main games with a lot of new content and systems etc. Will keep me busy till Throne & Lib launch.

I got into the beta late and I just finished the campaign. Also did all the dungeons and did a few delves.
It’s same old compared to the last 2 expansions. Don’t expect anything better. Still has that ‘off’ feeling that it is made by entirely different people than the game was originally. Even with Metzen back.
Since this is pretty much all I did in Dragonflight (along with the side quests) I guess I don’t even need to buy TWW now. lol.
