Anyone losing hype?

I was really excited for SL, i dont play as a i use too so im definitely in the casual player group. I guess from the youtube to the forums and just general excitement of hearing news about SL has really dampened it for me. I do believe ill still play, its just ive pretty much lost the hype/excitement for the build up

This definitely seems like the least hyped expansion

Negative. I’m stoked for the release, and I’m willing to wait. I felt it was being pushed to early as it was.

I totally agree i guess the mountains of heavy negativity has brought it down for me!

I never was hyped for it, I was merely glad that finally I would be able to play something else than BFA, but after seeing YET another massive stats squish AND a massive gold farming nerf coming in and another trash system that will be deleted at the end of Shadowland… I know I will miss BFA somehow.

The hype has been dulled.

We get to wait an extra month or two, just to renew frustrations with a covenant and conduit system that will never be balanced.

We have seen this before.

Trust in Ion. He said the team definitely have it down this time. Just like all the other times…

My hype is dead but pandaria did change my mind before.

Never had any hype and either way, I can just hop on to the beta at any point.

I wasn’t hyped when it was announced. Actually hated the whole theme and idea of it, but I’m starting to grow excited for the gameplay aspects.

Shadowlands ruined the lore for me, so story-wise it’s not too redeemable in my opinion. But I do think the game, while it’ll have issues, will be fun for the time spent especially if they use this time given from the delay to polish it.

Sounds like someone needs a firmware update.

It’s going to be neat to see how many players will farm the Covenants to get back all the different appearances for the tier gear cosmetics.

If that is how Covenants work? It seemed that way on the website leaked video awhile back.

I’m more hyped about it now they they announced the delay, considering how BFA ended up.

I’m still excited. More mellow now, but I’m looking forward to it nonetheless. Partly because I have nothing else to do and want new content. I miss having stuff to do in WoW.

But I’m very positive and optimistic about Shadowlands, all the negativity has just blown past me. It seems like it’ll be a very cool expansion overall!

As a casual player I look for a “hook” and everything positive about Shadowlands seems to come with a negative, and it’s because of the covenants.

I’ve been thinking that the phrase “meaningnful choice” is just code for “making a compromise with a bunch pros and cons”. I think some players may hit the jackpot and have the best spells for their class in their favourite covenant, but more likely than not there will be people that go “well I love this covenant but the spell isn’t my favourite” or even “well I love this covenant but the transmog for my gear type is terrible” I mean the list could go on and on.

But as a causal player it is assumed that I shouldn’t care about player power at all. This is probably the most irritating debate to come out of Shadowlands, and it has come about from their game design.

Nobody knows anything about shadowland lore wise wo there nothing to get excited about.

I was super hyped, logging in often to get last minute stuff done. Then came the obviously planned delay(hah, delaying on the first day where the financial impact wouldn’t show up on the end of quarter reports).

Can barely be bothered to log in at all now. Once I do 5 more days of nazjatar dailies, I’ll be done with follower levels, and only have to log on three more times to do mardives lab quest, and I’ll have my crab. Then I’m not even sure why I’d log in at all.

I’m here with you. Going to see the land of the dead is a huge negative to me. I have some small hope that we can leave the Shadowlands in 9.1.
