I’ve seen an addon on that tells you like someone in your raid or party has taken like 20% or abnormally high damage to alert the healer, big damage was taken.
Does anyone know what it’s called? I want to add it.
There is elitismhelper, which I think is 30% of health taken in damage over x amount of seconds, but as a healer, I can tell you that any decent one is going to notice you are taking huge chunks of damage. We don’t need an addon to alert us to that lol.

Yes OP you’re definitely referring to ElitismHelper. And as a healer, I vehemently disagree with this poster. It’s nice to know exactly what happened when someone randomly dies.

The Kiss-Your-Tail goodbye add-on seems to tell you when it is pretty much too late to do anything about it…
Oh, I’m not saying not to use the addon at all. It’s helpful. I’m just saying that any healer worth their salt is going to react to that damage before they have time to read the chat logs.

Any healer who doesn’t know when someone takes a hit is a terrible, terrible healer.
I mean, we see it on the raid frames/party frames. Anyone who takes a 20% chunk of health in damage…we see it.
The reason these are helpful, however, is for after that pull, when we say, “What happened there?” The add-on will tell you what hit the player and whether it was avoidable or not, and then in future pulls the healers can pre-empt that damage.

Not knocking anyone, but don’t healthbars dramatically falling tell you that huge damage was taken?
There are WAs out there that will tell you when someone is being targeted by a spell/skill/cast - that seems more worthwhile as it alerts you before that huge damage is taken.
Oh and I’ve never tried the elitism add on, but that might be helpful after the fight or dungeon is over, to assess what happened. Not sure if that’s what you’re referring to.

I honestly have no idea what some of the people in this thread are talking about. The purpose of the addon is not to tell you when someone took damage. Of course you see when someone takes damage. The purpose of the addon is to tell you what hit them, and whether it was avoidable…

Can’t really react if they get hit for 80% of their hp and die.
As I mentioned:
The addon tells you in real time what’s happening. Not after the fight or after the dungeon, but precisely as it’s happening. Again, you don’t seem to understand.

Idk why people use it tbh, just use your eyeballs, it’s usually really easy to see what killed you in the death log or in details
It’s not like it changes anything for healers anyway. You can’t go back in time and dodge the thing that killed you

Generally looking at your health bars which should be close enough that you don’t have to look down and away will tell you that, or turn on scrolling text in game.

The benefit of Elitism Helper is it announces avoidable damage. So if someone is getting called out frequently, it’s damage they should not be taking. It can help people learn what they can and should avoid. But most people get mad at it because they think they’re being attacked, even though they wouldn’t get called out if they, ya know, moved.

It also blocks my screen making me not see very well what mobs are casting.
