I’m looking for a place for my blackrock orc mechanic/blacksmith to work out of and possibly live in for RP purposes, but I’m not familiar with many forge-like locations.
Does anyone know of a good spot?

The one in RP Valley (Valley of Honour) is used by a friend that has their orc work out of it. It’s a pretty good spot because it puts you in close proximity of a major RP hub and as far as I’m aware it’s not a frequent spot so you don’t have to worry too much about conflict with someone else RPing in there.
It’s the type of place I’m looking for but it’s pretty full of NPCs. I’m wondering if I can find some place less populated.
If you’re interested in places inside Orgrimmar, the Craftsman’s area in VoH is good as stated. There’s also Kuros’ Armory in the Valley of Strength.
If you’re interested in places outside of Org but still close (and don’t mind some open air) the labor camp at the Dranosh’ar Blockade. You’re next to Rocktusk Farm, there’s an actual storage building across the road, and there’s all the action moving towards Bladefist Bay: https://imgur.com/a/4s0kTAX
Razor Hill has a forge, an Inn, and a quaint little camp on the Outskirts from the Rebellion. Like Razor Hill, but wish it had more tauren and totems? The Crossroads has similar amenities, but with two abandoned Kor’Kron camps to the south for premium open-air living! Both come with the added bonus of potentially getting to send young adventurers to test out your new weaponry. Exciting!
Bear in mind: If you find a place you like the aesthetics of but can’t find a good forge, you can always BYOTA: Bring Your Own Thermal Anvil! These guys cost like two silver and every single Blingtron carries about 800 of them.
Want to be close to that freaky moon in Darkshore? Hellscream’s Reach has openings! Featuring a mostly-empty forge and a wonderful view of the ruins of Astranaar, Hellscream’s Reach has all the amenities you would expect from a Horde Camp. Like Ashenvale, but wish you could have more spikes? Friend, check out Zoram’gar Outpost! There’s probably some stuff out in the EK like New Kargath, Dragonmaw etc, but I didn’t go that far because I am McTired! I hope this helped! :>

If you want to go really far out of your way, there’s a completely abandoned village with a forge in the Blasted Lands. West of the Dark Portal. Gilnean themed.

An abandoned site would work best but a Blackrock orc in a Gilnean village is bleh
Going to second Stag up there and suggest finding a nice spot and then setting up a Thermal anvil, campfire, and banner.
There’s also the option of setting up shop in Draenor, which would allow you to use one of those awesome tents. I got a lot of mileage out of the Troll one, which I coupled with a Darkspear banner and various cauldrons/fires to great effect.
