I used to play alts but I feel I burnout quicker if I try and get my alts to where my main is so I think I may just stop leveling my alts…anyone else do this?
Well yeah. That’s why alts are alts and your main is your main. If you treat them all like mains, then the burnout is definitely going to be there.
I seem to have this new way of playing where I don’t even have a main anymore. I have goals for tier transmog right now and play my Pally, Warrior and DH. But it’s only for specific pieces I’m trying to get, not a certain level of content. So it’s been chill for me.
Sure do, this DK is the only character I’ve played on any real content with cata
I tried to this season but there’s too many weekly lockouts to keep me on one toon. But then the reset happens and I have a pile of work in front of me : /
I play 1 character which is this one. I dont have time nor the patience to enjoy the grind of learning a whole other class or gearing them up. Plus no other has the class fantasy or visuals of a warlock. Mage is too squishy and Peter Pan esq.
It’s my dream. To cure my altoholism. I’m currently trying to focus on a prot paladin for pve stuff.
In S1, I had 5 characters.
In S2, I had 2
In S3, I just only play my Priest mostly
Gearing on alts is PITA, so juggling between main and my Rogue is all I need.
Quen is the first one to do any content and I won’t jump on an alt until she is done. I have a few alts but they are woefully neglected
Same here. I keep thinking there’s something wrong with me but I don’t want to be bothered learning another class. I don’t want to be in a situation where I want my totems but don’t have access.
I’ve only ever only played 1 character. Was a warlock from vanilla to WoD, it’s been this priest since Legion.
I deleted all my alts. As much as I miss them, they’re too much for this game …genre.
SWTOR was my bread and butter, and I first deleted them there. The game opened up to me and became more fun now that I did not have to worry about them, though I never should feel the need to do that to begin with, to be honest. Followed with deleting my alts in other MMOs, including WoW of course, and felt all the better for it. With my one and only character decked out with the perfect transmogrification and mount, I no longer worried about any FOMO, for I already had everything I needed. Never mind actually being good at playing them. Your main’s class just sticks.
I do miss my alts, but they’re too much of a hassle to keep leveled and geared up, and to make sure I don’t miss out on any cosmetics that I could want for them. Deleting them technically solved the problem. Besides, in these game, you are supposed to be a person; people tend to identify you with a character, hence why we even have mains to begin with.
This extended past MMOs and into RPGs in general. Some of them have no replay value, and others are just tedious.
I don’t know. I think that now that I am older, I’d rather spend less time playing any specific game all the time and over and over again, and so sticking to just one character alleviates that quite a bit.
Yes. I just play my war
This has been my main since forever. I have one alt which is a Horde warrior whose main purpose is to fill out missing transmog slots and play Horde-specific content. Needless to say he’s not been needed for the latter for several xpacs now.
I play one as a main now and the other 3 or 4 I tinker with are very alty alts. I used to have 2 or 3 mains per season, but I don’t have time for all of the gearing up and stuff these days. I get my aotc and ksh done and kind of idle through the rest of a patch now. I’ve got irl stuff to enjoy.
I have five characters, but I really only spend most of my time on two of them.
I get AotC and do raid prog on one main. After that, my guild often does alt runs for normal and heroic raids, and maybe I will or will not get AotC on another alt, don’t really care after I’ve gotten it once.
The rest of my alts farm delves and whatnot to unlock teir appearances. Don’t really care if they don’t get the best gear or anything. Some of them will even use their cata charge on off set pieces before they even have 2pc because that’s all I want out of them lol
Yeah i feel you. Got rilota all holy specced new mog fixed up her ui… just went back to m+ hell queue on my udk. Sometimes you just get single minded i suppose.
When I came back, I leveled a bm because that was my character when I left. Many, many years ago. Got him all leveled and stopped. Then I did Amul, 99% of the time I run Amul. The other 1% is the bm. The dk just fits how I play, and I enjoy it quite a lot, so others just arent needed.
Yep. I have several 80’s, but I play Psych here 99% of the time. Every once in a blue moon I’ll putz around on my warlock but it’s been around 2 weeks since I’ve even touched her. I just find it easier to focus on one character, and once I get done what I want to get done for the week I play a different game until reset. Doing the same thing over and over again just on different characters isn’t as fun now that I’m older
Yes! I really only play on my mage in-game. I do got several alts, But I haven’t touched them in a while now. Might level them up when the turbo event starts.
Might make an Alliance character here eventually again. So I can work on achievements that require both factions to complete. Such as the Battle for Azeroth expansion meta achievement!
