Anyone into Retro PC Hardware building

Bought some hardware off Ebay recently to support a new retro build for playing Original Doom and Doom II, still have the CDs for it too and the original SB-16 ISA card.

I purchased a SLOT-1 asus board and a SLOT-1 socket 370 which I think should be more than enough for these games. Also thinking of eventually loading in Windows (XP) to play WC Prophecy and other Wing Commander titles. (the speech pack!!!) anyone remember this from back in the day? I’m thinking early/mid 90s.

First PC I built was a slot 1, Intel Pentium 3 450mhz on a Diamond Micronics 440BX board.

Must have been…1998? 1999?

Sounds about Right for the P III Gen, I had around 1999 it was a 600BMHZ 100mhz fsb, upgraded a year or so later to a 133MHZ FSB M.B with Socket 370 1.4 ghz i think
