Anyone here play the game how they want?

i mean they really play the game how they want to play; no class/race restrictions due to racials, no specific spec they play because it’s FOTM, etc…

if so what exactly is the highest content you perform in? PvE and PvP wise?

just asking because i tend to min max for both types of content but i really don’t play high end of anything not that i can’t skill wise just time issues from work and all that. wasn’t this was before i but it’s been a problem for me for many years in almost every mmorpg i play.

RN just kind of debating on making a class/race combo that pretty much has little benefit from the racial in almost all aspects of the game excluding 1 spec. i mean it does have use but extremely niche imo outside of PvP and that 1 spec.

I play a night elf and blood elf because they’re hot but also because I like shadowmeld, does that count?

21ish, or whatever level I need to do to get into the hot keys. I was wrong last season thinking that people would still do 15s and so I only needed to do 18s to have good groups, and got curved. So I have 21s now and will do 23s soon so I can get into 20s throughout the season.

When I did play it was always how I wanted to play as a solo open world player.

I do.

although I do netdeck the talents, for the most part. (as you can see, I’m not running the blesssing of sacrifice and got some stuff of my own choice in there)

Always have, always will.

No. Because you have to do m+ if you want good gear.

Why post on forums if not playing?

I play what works best for me, demo and affliction.

So I can continue to try and help the game improve even if not playing now if things improve I can return and it is my right to voice my concerns.

i post on forums even though i don’t play as often as i’d like or can. mainly just to see what people are posting and try to keep up with content/w.e.

i take a lot of breaks inbetween for various amount of time last time i played was probably 3-4 days ago. just spending time with my daughter and trying to enjoy what little days i have left before i head back to my field full time. once that happens pretty much either wont be home all afternoon-night and sleeping throughout the day probably.

mostly collect mogs, mounts, pets. explore. ran some m+ when dragonflight was new but did so with family/friends, so they mostly carried me lol

Im an orc blood dk. Been told thats good. Didn’t read racials. Just wanted to be a big man that gets slapped by other big guys. Next I want to make a demon hunter, not sure what race. I just think illidan was sick in hots and I wanna do that in WoW.

I mean, I’ve done some low keys. I just spend most of my time elite hunting on the dragon isles. It’s a chill life, but someone has to kill em all on spawn

I’ve always played my way and not by the meta (spec, talents, race/class, etc), and while I’m a casual player now, here are a few noteworthy things:

  • In a heroic raid once, a lot of the talents I were using were not ‘optimal’ but they worked for ME and MY play style and the raid lead had no issue as long as I kept up. Not only did I keep up, but I out-damaged a mythic raider of the same class/spec who was playing the meta. Naturally, they were pissed.

  • The above happened again in Hellfire Citadel except the other person didn’t let it go on the whole raid. Instead, they tried out my spec and found a few ways to improve it for the Archimond fight, and that ended up being my new ‘Archie’ spec because it was a helpful change. With both of us using the new changes, the other raider out-damaged me but I kept up well enough that it was a gear difference, nothing more.

I chose to stick to the above scenarios because one shows a case where someone was so put out over me doing something different that they apparently harassed the raid leader for a while after over them not kicking me. And the other was a case where a mythic raider helped me work with what I wanted to use instead.

For Mythic raiding, it’s obviously necessary to do what works for the whole team when it’s freshly released because you succeed quicker by building on each other’s strengths rather than being ‘me me me me me’ focused. But for anything else, finding what works for you is absolutely viable. You just can’t let jerks hold you back because they’re triggered you didn’t have to follow the meta in order to do well.

Good luck to anyone trying to branch out!

Been playing a human hunter main for some time now. Just keeping up with gearing up, got ally my S2 honor gear easily enough and it was a fun little grind, now im working on conquest gear. Ill do all of my daily bonus matches but mostly just stick to regular battlegrounds for fun because you can use or do whatever you like there, unlike in rated.
Dont use any addon, dont read guides or apreadsheet data or use meta

I’m always an Alliance Frost DK with a DW Obliteration build, even when it’s considered garbage tier. For a very long time my character was Human, but in Shadowlands I decided to race change to Void Elf because I prefer the VE character model.

I mostly stick to keys in the 10-15 range, and casually progress through Normal and Heroic raids with a similarly casual raid group.

No. I want to play as ele on my main sham in DF but am kinda forced to go into enh but I dont mind it too much. Also want to play my ret more the way it was meant to be played. I just adapt though.

I suppose I would have to answer “yes” to that.

Well, my options are limited. Herbalism, mining, fending off vermin from the fields. A little bit of sneaky fishing. Once a month I taking a riding turtle down to the local tavern for a snack.

I play what i want. Imma filthy casual, however my in-game satisfaction rates at about a 9/10 whenever I pop on.

Bgs are still hilarious. Lfd/r still bursting at the seams with budlight drinking windowlickers.

Anything organized tends to be successfuln and most of my days are spent making all my alts look fly and leveling to cap.

If youre hating life doing the min/max m+ thing then maybe dont. Rocking the top of the meter only stays fresh for so long.

Yep.

Guess i’m just lucky the role i enjoy is in high demand and my class is pretty good. I plan to main this guy regardless of balance swings.

I do plan my alts more based on the meta now though.
