I’m just starting to come back to the game after a 1.5/2 year hiatus… just starting to get back into the game with BFA and it kind of sucks that a large portion of the posts from the community on here are negative.
Even trying to find a guild has been a negative experience with me where people who have been recruiting on here copy and paste there guild application paragraph but then are very negative about the game once you speak to them.
I get that there are some changes happening that people don’t like and it’s important to voice your concerns as a community but are there still people out there who still love the game and what it has to offer right now?
Just looking for a bit of positivity around here while I sneak-lurk on the forums while at work lol

On GD? There are some who like the game and current expansion. But for the most part people come to the forums to qq. The people having fun are generally in game playing and have little reason to ever come to the forums.

Yes I just like wow and don’t hate on it for anything i think the developera did wrong. Also Im probably not even going to play classic at all.

I come to the forums while at work… When I get home I ignore forums and play the game.
And yes, unpopular opinion but I came back after what 3 years since 7.15.? And I’m really enjoying the game altho I hate leveling on Tiragard. Drustvar is just better and Stormsong is ok.
But I love Island Expeditions and WQ so I’m set!

I am enjoying it myself as well. I will probably take my mid expansion hiatus shortly after 8.2 but i will be back.

Overall I am happy with it too , sure it could use some love here and there but overall it’s a fine expansion. There are just people that like come here to complain because that’s all they know how to do.

A lot of it comes from frustration in seeing good systems completely scrapped that were working or at least mostly working and just need some tweaking. Some classes losing like half of their abilities while others basically remained unpruned save for a few spells (pruning was an awful idea to begin with). There’s no real feeling of accomplishment anymore when you get a gear upgrade since it’s 100% lottery box luck and anyone can get something as good or better with better luck. PvP basically resembles a mummy now with all the poorly thought out bandaid fixes over bandaid fixes. Old content is basically irrelevant. New content is essentially irrelevant (looking at you warfronts and island expeditions). Etc
It’s not so much that it’s bad (I still think wow is heads and shoulders above every other mmo on the market), it’s just that players are frustrated because it could be so much better, so much more, without a whole lot of effort or resources, yet blizzard keep insisting on doubling down on bad idea after bad idea, and the few good ideas they have never seem to last longer than a patch or an xpac before they’re totally thrown in the garbage to be replaced with something worse

I absolutely love WoW but BFA is definitely a lackluster expansion, there just isn’t a lot of funny things to do. Like most of my time in BFA is just running M+, so…

Every expansion has its faults, and this one is no different. I just remind myself it’s a game that I play for enjoyment, and just roll with it.

Disappointed in some things with BFA but I’ve played this game since Vanilla, it’s a huge part of my life. The raiding is always great and keeps me going.

I love wow and bfa has been fun just feels like its missing something. Also some fun needs added back to classes and professions. my 2 favortie professions are just boring this time around
I’ve played the game for many many years, and while I don’t hate this xpac, I certainly don’t have as much fun now as I did years ago. This xpac could do with a lot of tweaking which I hope 8.2 fixes.
I think what OP is experiencing what a lot of online rhetoric is now. It’s either you love something so much and it’s the best thing ever, or it’s crap, the developers are bad and you are bad for playing.
There’s plenty of middle ground people should utilize but don’t. This xpac is very flawed and feedback is needed, but people could give it without yelling so much.

People were giving feedback about things that were broken and weren’t going to work in the very first alpha build that were ignored. What makes you think blizzard will listen now?

Personally I think the game has done nothing but gone backwards since WOD. I unsubbed, only way I will return is if they go back to Pre Wod core game play.

There isn’t (and never will be) a way to guarantee developers will listen to honest feedback. And the reason for not listening could be for various other reasons than just “We know what we’re doing lulz”.
But think about it. If you were writing an article for example, and you let your significant other read it, are you more likely to respond to honest feedback or if he/she yelled “You suck, this isn’t any good, no one SHOULD read this?” You’d either ignore their feedback or give up entirely.
Even if they gave some feedback you ignored, and the issue was still there the second time they read it, would you prefer they yell at you? Or insult you? Or say it’s the worst thing they ever read? I doubt it.
No, being honest and calm isn’t guaranteed to fix anything, but I can guarantee yelling and spitting vitriol does NOT help.
I don’t HATE it–there are some decent things and things that are outright terribad. Just kind of Meh about it.
Ya but when you put out alpha and beta builds that solely exist specifically to offer customers a method of giving feedback and then just ignore everything, what kind of message does that send? Why even make alpha and beta releases?

I see doors closing one after another. This devs are doing to players instead of for. Sometimes it seems to me that wow competitors are doing this to drive all subscribers out .
