*disclaimer: sweeping vistas of snow-covered mountains look 7000% more amazing in person than in a picture-- no matter how good they look in a picture.

I could be in Colorado later today if wanted to be. I’m to your SE in Kansas.

I took a class 20 odd years ago in West Minster and loved the views. I spent an afternoon in Boulder going up and down the mountain at the end of town.

And I totally agree with this:

I looked into what it would cost to live there when I was in training around 2000/2001, and the rent on a studio appartment in Boulder was about $1,000 a month.

That’s more than I’m willing to pay even today. Beautiful mountain views though!

lol this is so cute. What is it now? Like $2200? lol

I lived in Fort Collins for 8 years. But have lived in Wyoming for the past 19 years.

Yeah that’s one of the biggest turn-offs for living in CO now, the cost of living. 3 years ago a 1bedroom 600 sqft apartment was costing me 1200/month plus utilities.
I bought a house here and in 2 years the value has increased by nearly $100k, nuts.

That increase is more than I paid for my house.

The value has gone up about 40% over the years though.

I had a 2 bedroom place around that time in Boulder. We paid $1000 a month with utilities. Wasn’t the nicest, but was affordable for college.

The house market here is now crazy and driving most folks put. It’s sad that I’m renting out a 3 bedroom house for $2800 a month. And it’s not a great place, but it does pay for my mortgage right now.

Ouch.

You would OWN a new 3 bedroom house, here in Omaha Nebraska, for probably less than $2800 a month. Oh, misread, YOU are renting the house to someone, which pays for your mortgage.

I had a brand new 3 bedroom condo here, I “owned”, and the payment was just over $1200 a month with Escrow. Now I’m in a big one bedroom apartment for $690 a month.

Driving to work, or anywhere, and it takes 7-30 minutes; priceless.

Gotta love short drives. Yeah the house I live in right now is about 10 minutes from my primary job. My other job is about 10 minutes away as well… but that’s usually how long it takes me to walk from the living room to my office

Yes, I rent a house out that I got from my grandparents when they passed. My family makes too much money off of it to sell it or not rent it out to someone else. Even though I could use a better place to live and not be working 2 or 3 jobs at once.

I like cheese. :cheese:

I graduated college there. Was Ninos around when you were growing up? Last time I visited Dr Benson was alive and Ninos had just moved to a fancy new location with a bar covered in coins under resin. Every time I get a quesadilla I compare it to theirs, and I’ve never found one that even comes close yet.

I’m in the Evanston area spent my time in Arkansas as well. First gf was from Grady. Lived in McCaskill for a little while. Been through Pine Bluff. Used to go to Texarkana on the border to do karoake.
