There is a lot of negativity here about the state of the spec. Anyone have anything positive to say? Let’s add a little cheer to this all!
We’ve always had the best looking tier sets.
This 100%. One of the reasons I am leveling and have decided to retool from this yawn inducing Druid.
Affliction and destruction are a nosehair away from being competitive in pvp with a baseline survival tool increase. I say “both” because you are currently required to play night fae for affliction to be viable.
Basically the damage is there it just needs a bit more survival.
I am enjoying it. I’ve never played warlock before so I dont have a comparison to old rotations and set ups etc.
I am having fun
Warlocks as a whole are not a very common class (believe we’re like 2nd or 3rd least played). This makes it to where people will sometimes seek you out when doing certain content.
Additionally, because of lock cookies, even with lock is in a rough spot, you’re still practically guaranteed at least 1 in a raid.
I elevated my Destro Warlock to my main and have zero regrets - love the easy rotation that still allows for a little skill depending on the conduits you use, it’s great for questing/solo content, and I do decent enough damage in dungeons and LFR. Plus, my spec is maybe in line for some buffs in the next patch, which is just gravy.
Also really love how well my favorite covenant, Necrolords, matches with Destro.
Same. I’ve been playing demo mostly and have been having a blast.
Demo is the reason I am leveling. Not super concerned about the numbers but it’s the most fun spec in the game.
Love my Lock. I admit I don’t have a thick skin. After working all day I don’t want to get crapped on all night in a game. But since nobody really knows what Warlocks do, you tend to not get hate in pugs anywhere near everyone else.
This was the very first class I ever made when I started the game in BC and even back in Vanilla when I was still playing WC3 (because my potato I played on back then didn’t have enough memory for WoW) I always looked at the OG WoW website and knew I wanted to play a Warlock.
I’m SUPER casual nowadays (play a handful of hours a week at most) so at most I’ll step into normal Nathria one of these days, but I still love my Warlock and the general vibe of the class.
I understand it’s not in the best place right now because even though I don’t play often I still keep up with everything, but I love this guy too much to switch.
I play this toon as an alt to my WW main, and I love it for that purpose. All three specs are extremely varied and interesting in their play styles, not to mention on the more complex side compared to other classes.
I used to play a mage and the difference is night and day; mages have three specs that are all based on some form of nuke proc whereas lock specs are all different.
I did the LFR first wing raid tonight and outlived raid wipes twice, with seed and soul stone and with nothing special, as Demo. I was NOT topping the charts with damage but it was okay. Demo needs damage boost, but I am only ilvl 180. Reward: just anima.
they are fun to kill. Whenever Im feeling weak and helpess against the train of WW’s, warriors, and ret paladins, i beat up on a warlock to feel tough again.
I actually really like how destruction feels playing its just the damage is lacking.
Same, honestly.
I feel like we’re so close to being good, but just not right now. Demon Armor baseline, another CB buff, and remove the health cost of burning rush. That would cover most of the problems I have with the spec atm. Not complete remedies of course, but QoL enough for me.
This is my first time playing warlock and I have been having a great time as affliction.
I like the theming, and it once was one of if not THE most fun class to play.
Too bad blizzard destroyed it, pains me to step down as a lock main to play a hunter as my endgame pushing character, for 2 expacs in a row.
One positive thing about current gameplay… Torghast gives you an anima power that lets your 3 “spender” abilities use 5/10% of your “current” health (not max) instead of resource… which makes Demonology stupid fun… summon 30-something imps, pop some bubbles and go to town.
that would be blatantly op. There would be no reason to ever take burning rush off.
what warlocks get juist a basline 50% movespeed? no that would be broken.
Instead, I think burning rush should be a cd. Short cd, like maybe 10-15 seconds, and gives you 4 seconds of 200% speed. Just basically like an “OH SH*T SPRINT AWAY” button.
