I have the side by side double vision, and narrow vision. My eyes jump word to word when I read. I used to read smooth, word to word, but now my eyes “skip” or jumps along the words. I just came back from the opthalmologist and it seemed like she doesn’t know what the deal is. She’s ordering prism stickers for my glasses to wear for 6 weeks. I also think it may be eye misalignment since the symptoms are just that. But she didn’t mention it.
I had a feeling she wasn’t going to figure it out. She checked each of my eyes for double vision and it was like she was dumbfounded.
I’ve had this for 20 years, but I was never been able to explain it in words. I saw neurologist before going to this opthalmologist and they didn’t find anything.
It sucks. I feel beaten after seeing the doc.
It makes it hard playing WoW. I can only focus on the middle, I figure most of you players are able to see the hotkeys at the bottom without having to move your eyes from middle to the bottom of the screen?

Kind of depends on a few things. UI layout, screen size, how close you are. My eyes have been getting worse since owning a computer, and it’s really starting to build up to the point where things look blurry.
I remember having 20/20 vision when I was younger. I kinda wish I had put in a bit more effort to preserve my eyesight, because once its gone, its gone.
Really hope your problem gets figured out. Seems like a bizarre situation, but hopefully future science will save us both!
im not intoxicated yet , so no.

Oh I have something like that.
I use weak auras attached to sounds and I have a lot of my stuff center screen with some stuff on the right hand side layed out in a way that can stand out.
Make sure your font is as big as it can get too.
Mine is from astigmatism and my eyes will sometimes jitter or garble words. Has your doc checked for astigmatism?
damn… nobody found what it is in 20 years i dont think a game forum can D:
i hope you get it sorted somehow tho… vision is kind of a big deal when it comes to having a passion for vidya games.
*sometimes i get double vision momentarily but i can focus up and everything comes back normal.
knocks on wood
only happens if im extra tired after a very long session.
I have nothing useful to contribute so…

My peripheral vision fried (and I was having issues with it prior) so I actually can’t.
I mostly just use sound prompt addons to get around some stuff, and I’ve been playing my class for so long the rotation feels natural to me.
Look into stuff like WeakAuras.
Can customize things to be exactly what you need.
This is NOT a contribution. Just saying.
No, but I do get dizziness whenever I do circles around Oribos and fatigued even just while playing wow. My left leg also feels like it’s going to give out on me, just a general weird feeling with my leg. But those two symptoms are always happening, even on the forums. But anyhow, you can set it up sort of how I have mine https://imgur.com/c455Cok
now I will admit, it is pretty big but that’s because I am using a 32x32 screened monitor. So, you can resize this to however works for you. (ignore the n4 and n3 options, I was bored one day and was testing somethging.
I have astigmatism, I didn’t even know that until recently. Everything would be super blurry at night and there were times I just could not focus in on what I was reading well enough to understand it. I thought I had some sort of attention problem.
glasses helped a lot and even helped to have less migraines. That probably doesn’t help since you’ve seen doctors tho.
Also have read double vision could be a sign of brain tumor, or something like high blood pressure or thyroid disease
. Could be a lot of things unfortunately.

Is your screen centered on your desk? Why is it so important you have physical visual balance.
edit: I dont mean to directly manipulate “dead zones” or maybe I am, it all depends on the progression of the loss… but fundamentally focus on what do you need to even be noticing? Does your gameplay improve on a smaller resolution? If its the same regardless resolution you’re just not seeing larger objects in detail in your fov… a very picky thing when you’re talking on video games.
i lost some sensation in the left leg and left pinkie. i assume its bad posture sitting criss-cross. maybe it’s happening to you as well
tough to fix a habit youve had for decades lol
I hope not, then again though I feel like my hand is losing a bit of sensation perhaps it’s time to see a doctor.
Yes, I get this A LOT. It happens at random and tends to resolve itself if I close my eyes and just meditate for a little bit.
I have it, when i was 5 i had a lazy eye operated to fix it straight and in the process got permanent double vision. Something about overestimating how much they needed to cut the muscle
The optometrist i saw recently said theres no point trying to correct it because i’ve learned to ignore it and trying to get rid of it would just cause me to be more aware of it
When i get tired it gets pretty noticeable though
It gets worse the further i am from an object, so computer screens don’t give me issues unless i’m dead tired
Here is the problem. If you’re spending to much time in front of pc you will develop that issue. People spend to much time on work in front of PC then play games. Relax your eyes more
Could potentially makes sense as to why meditation(relaxation) remedies the problem. Although I did have it happen when driving once, got so severe I had to pull over until my eyes focused (Thankfully not on an interstate or highway - it happened while on the backroads in a low population area in Mississippi, found a spot to pull over, with hazard lights on, where anyone turning a corner would have plenty of time to see my vehicle and not hit me). Usually I focus on the stimuli input through a single eye and ignore the input from the other. Basically, it repurposes the double vision into just a single 2D image which is much easier to follow and concentrate on.
buuuut…If I just meditate for 5-15mins I’m usually good for a few hours.
Do you turn your neck torso or eyes to check your side mirror? Unwinding after sitting for too long in a double attentive state is a growing necessity with age I believe.
