If you do how has it been?
I cleared 4 then took a break. Too many other chores for the week. Personally I chose the Skoldus Halls each time. Two dogs may hunt me ooo scary. Unless they fixed it just enter and renter until you get the area you want.
I really avoid Mort’regar if I can. It seems to be the one overtuned to my afflic spec.
For solo I usually do destro, but I’ve ran the past few 8s as affliction ans do great… once you have the gear, aoe is weak for aff but I can easily burn most bosses a lot faster than demo/destro with the right powers.
I did layer 1-7 solo as affliction and then had 2 nearly complete 8th layer runs ruined by the bug where our VW loses stacks of buffs for going through portals 
Ended up finishing with my rogue friend, he had some OP buffs that made him do like 10x my damage lol
So long as you get the 500% VW buff (the bug that made it drop when you went through portals is fixed now) thing and the phantasma buff for spamming MG you can buy out everything the vendor has it’s actually pretty easy, also make sure to pay attention to which mobs you use those thingies on (particularly the massive fire resist buff).

Did all 8 layers of Twisting as Aff. It’s the best spec for it imo. Demo a close 2nd. Like Virus said, you definitely want the 500% buff for your VW.

I found that solo aff is easier in base torghast. But in TC you get so many buffs to your Felguard and Tyrant that your one-shotting adds and bosses take 20s to kill.
currently Aff for all my runs got to floor 18 layer8 with it. Was pumping a mean 400k dps. I couldnt beat custodian thonar thought on 18 because of the reflective thorn spell. Either the skeleton minon that I couldnt get rid of was procing it or the dots. Got the same boss again a demo and couldnt top the demons from hitting it also which was sad 
I wouldn’t go darksoul though. Usually end up with over 50% haste every run so it became a bit overkill.

Going to have to give aff a shot again. Torghast has become what I do when I’m bored, so my next attempt is Layer 8 as both Destro and Aff. From what I hear all of the specs are viable so I’m looking forward to it.
I’ve found it to be incredibly slow since you have to tab target/multi-dot every pack of mobs before you can do any damage. I also seem to get a ridiculous amount of powers that buff demonic circle and/or seed of corruption radius which are both basically useless

I thought the Demonic Circle power was useless, but it was clutch in TC Layer 7 boss. You get 3 powers that decrease the CD by 8 seconds (down to 6 seconds) + the power that gives you the 50% DR for 10 seconds whenever you use Demonic Circle and you have a permanent 50% DR buff. Not as useful in base Torghast, but it can be a nice safety in TC.
Super easy as affliction but it’s slower.

Did layer 1-7 as aff. Ran into a wall on 8 just b/c of bad boss luck. Decided to try demo /w infernal pact and man…should’ve been using it all along. The damage is pretty amazing. Where i’d have to dissect a room with aff, the demo pets just yolo everything in sight. It’s really fun, and I suggest trying it.
And yeah, I switched immediately back to aff after leaving with the creeper.
did a layer 3 twist last night and got like 8 stacks of the urn anima power for my drain soul. 30 of them let me crit with it on the end boss for 1.4mil. Needless to say affliction is powerful, but I would say that demo is better since they fixed the bug that ruins your entire run after using a teleport on the platforms with infernal intimacy.
I’ve done max layer every week as aff. For powers I prioritize: instant demon summon > main stat increases > 60% corruption slow > secondary stat increases > whatever else. 3/2/1/2/2/2/3 for talents, sacrolash legendary. keep VW out to tank, kill everything and collect soul ash.
I find it boring, but thats probably because i find torghast to be boring and I would rather be doing literally anything else in game.

honestly i think aff is great for torghast, and its the only spec ill use for torghast as i only have done all my runs solo thus far including the TC 18 floors. ive been using sacrolash and just go around dotting everyone with corruption/agony they are too slow to keep up forcing them to accept my pets taunt. Once i get about 20 enemies grouped they are mostly half health and will start a aoe rotation to finish them off. only downfall is you will have to resummon your pet if you dont maintain him so i save PS to replensih health from health funnel.
I clear layer 8 weekly with Demo, why anyone would go in there with anything outside of Demo is mind boggling. All the buffs to the demons makes it easier/quicker.

Ease of use. I don’t like playing demo at all as i dont like the spec, and with aff, a spec im more comfortable on, I can clear a wing in about 30 minutes. So around an hour total for my weekly boreghast and I’m out.
I do a lot of damage in AoE pulls…
