Why do people get so bent out of shape when Blizzard asks players “Hey, be nice”? And yes, it kind of random when it pops up.
Every time I log in which has fallen to about maybe once a month I get that social contract popping up. No clue why but glad it is a known bug and not something more serious
Some people go on the internet just to be a POS because they know they’d get decked if they tried to irl.
Cause they’re dishonest.
I get it randomly very rarely. I don’t worry about it, I know I didn’t do anything and it’s not personally directed at me. Just scroll, click and move on.
Ive had like 10 of em.
How so? We abide by the rules, or we get cut off from the game.
Just like how you act right at McDonald’s or they kick you out.
Careful with decking, thats under the label assault which has legal ramifications in the real world…
But beating them in their own game has no such legal risk!
Very hard to throw people out in America. Most stores adopt and force a “Customer is always right” mentality among the employees. It’s why when you ordered a rare steak but send it back because its not “hot throughout” the servers just smiles and nods, and gets it “fixed” (Despite it being literally a perfect rare)
One time I was told by a customer to relay to the chef that they wanted their steak cooked for 5 seconds on each side. Anymore and he will demand it to be remade. (Was forced by my boss to ring it up) I was worried i would become complicit in some food illness breakout o.e
Every so often. I just continue to ignore it and hit accept anyway.
I don’t know, I have seen security “escort” people from stores all the time. Walmart even has a ban list they refer to. I have ejected people from my studio a couple of times for being a pain to the staff.
Spirit vs letter. I would have a looser system myself is all.
It’s totally random. Its possible to never talk to anyone and get it. The price to playing WoW is randomly having a sign waved in your face to be a good little boy or girl.
So for the short of it, you’re fine.
I’d say, people find it patronizing, mainly. It says ‘hey, we don’t trust you to be a decent person on your own, we gotta remind you. And randomly so.’ It feels like being talked down to, regardless if you have a history of misbehavior or not. I think that’s what annoys people.
I remember when the Social Contract thing went down, and for everyone they got a notice on log in. Makes sense then, but nowadays, its pretty unnecessary, unless its been a ‘very’ long time since login, or coming back after account action.
That’s correct.
I don’t find it patronizing, but do find it sad people have to be reminded to “Play nice” like they are 6 years old.
I find it sad people dont get that offence can be warranted and we are all poorer off for it being improperly restrained.
Because some people apparently cannot control themselves and act like total… yeah…
hands the drani a burger king hat
Here take this.
