Anyone from Alaska or somewhere else more remote?

I am moving to Alaska, specifically in the Big Lake area about 30 minutes from the center of Wasilla.

tl;dr I bought land there with my wife and we’re moving up from the south east.

Looks like internet availability will be through the power company, MTA, but I am unsure of the reliability until I actually get a connection.

Does anyone in remote areas or people already living in Alaska have suggestions?
I was thinking a mobile companies 5g home connection, but that option is quite expensive.

Starlink has a huge waiting list.

I knew a dude that live in Juneau years ago and he played WOW … You will be fine

is it…fiber?

It’s broadband, so… I think it’s a mix between coax and fiber? I am not sure.

My likely fix for internet is going to be Home 5g. I use to have it and it was actually pretty g00d - just expensive

yeah if it is fiber I would go for it… fiber pings are the awesome

You are South of the banana belt so your winters won’t be interior brutal…I was stationed in Alaska back in the late 80’s Fort Greely and went through the winter of 1989. My definition of cold weather is still > 30 below zero. You make it up to the Fairbanks area, make sure to visit The turtle club in Fox. Best prime rib on the planet…
