Anyone else?

Dread logging on an alt, realizing all the things you have to redo and just log back on your main?.

That’s where I’m at right now, I remember in WOTLK days, I’d get on my main run raids for badges and gear one night and be done for that week getting gear and the other days I’d just do pvp on my main or if I get burnt out on my main I’d log on my alt and run dungeons to gear up and that was fun.

Now it’s like I log on my alt and think… ok i gotta do the quest for the Cape, then I have to do arenas, bgs etc to conquest points in one day for the weekly chest. Gotta go do a bunch of dailies for Ap, gotta redo a bunch of things to get essences for my class/specc. Join a bunch of mythics after I’m maxed out from heroics and world quests etc then spend a bunch of time queuing for mythics I’m gonna get reject in cause my IO score is low and my item lvl isnt 460 or higher which seems what most people want.

When you think of all that it’s way easier to just log back on ur main cause the amount of time to do all that just for one alt let alone a few alts I just dont have time for everyday like back in the day. It feels more like logging in to do a bunch of chores ran then have fun doing dungeons over and over practicing your class and getting your gear you need at the end.

I could go on and on but that’s one of many things I hate about bfa… everything takes soooo much longer to do and half of it isnt even fun to do.

I understand if you have all day to play and nothing else to do but for the nor.al person with a job that’s too time consuming.

And I understand alot of those people would play all day everyday and get maxed out and then get bored and complain so they pro longed everything but that isnt the majority of players that a certain low minority of players.

Which the leveling of the neck, essences and leveling your cape wasnt even a thing.

Not really, we have lots of time until Shadowlands. Honestly it lets me catch up on all the stuff I haven’t done and I can do it at a leisurely pace.

I imagine people are responding to your question, not reading the entire thing.

As per your question: nope, I’m playing 14 characters and kind of enjoying it. While I still hold that essences should be account wide in some sense, I’m still playing my alts and enjoying myself.

And I am a normal person with an 8 hour job and a 3 hour a day streaming hobby that doesn’t involve WoW.

I can’t even be bothered to do this stuff on my main, much less my alts lol.

Yes. Unlike Legion, I’ve not even really played them (beyond getting them to 120.)

And I don’t even raid, or do uber stuff like mythics. So they’d not be doing much more than casual content like me, maxing the cloak, raising essences, getting around 445 gear, etc. Even so, it is too daunting.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Took me 20 hours to get an alt ready for M10, 30 to get it to ilvl 460 with three r3 essences and a couple at r2.

Next question.

Actually that wasn’t what they poster stated! They said they had plenty of time to do whatever was needed before Xpac release.

You on the other hand sound like one of those who want Blizzard to start handing essenses and such out like they are candy on Halloween because the work you have to do before getting to M+/raiding is just so tedious!

I would, if I was doing anything on alts. I only do world quests to catch them up to maybe 410ish or wherever it maxes out, and I stop.

Pretty much. It’s annoying enough one time.

You mean like we have been having to do for alts since day 1 of WoW launching?

yep bfa is not alt friendly

“yep bfa is not alt friendly”

LMAO completely false. I love when people say this. BfA and the past few expansions have been the most alt friendly. Just because you can’t get rank 3+ essences for your alt like your main doesn’t mean it is alt unfriendly. Not only that, you don’t really need rank 3 unless you plan on running all your alts in Mythic raiding or M15+

I have a toon with every “shareable” profession except cooking at max rank (which in BFA requires max level to get the Nazjatar recipes).

If that bump were to happen now, I don’t know if I would still do it because of essences and capes on the many toons.

Meanwhile in Legion, I did every class campaign and didn’t care too much about the gear because none of the upgrades were going to be detrimental.

I haven’t experienced this feeling at all in the entirety of BFA. I experienced it in Legion though, not only on all my alts, but my main character as well. Was so bad I didn’t even have a single geared toon that expansion.

I can kinda relate. I remember having that feeling last Fall on Classic. Not really so much on retail (my highest character in retail is almost level 70, at time of this posting, so I haven’t done the level 120 grind stuff yet).

Essences are really the only thing that is annoying on alts. But you can get 3-4 pretty easily and you don’t need them to be BiS, they are alts they don’t need BiS essences.

Farming conquest and mythics is not for alts. Doing 1 mythic a week isn’t hard to get a chest. Getting invites is not hard if you don’t try to get into 10’s while under geared, and if you apply to lots of different groups.

I mean alliance had 445 emissaries 3 weeks ago, and had 3 of them in the past weekend.

Yes it isn’t MoP anymore, keeping 10+ characters ready to raid isn’t realistic.

Yes, except I stopped playing in December 2018, so don’t have a main to log back onto atm.
