Honestly I’m kinda happy we got these troll elves.
Essentially another pretty Horde race with Druid.

Wouldn’t it be Horde’s first pretty race with Druid? The other options are trolls and tauren.

MoP could have given us Jinyu and Hozen.
BFA, instead of Vulpera and MechaGnomes we could have had Sethrak, the aquatic goblins, and a second chance at Jinyu that they for some reason passed on again. (Z Trolls and KT’s are solid though)
SL was filled with races they could have done. The lore is so garbage that they could have found a way.
DF could have given us better Evoker models, lets be real. Or we could have gone some Primalist customizations for existing races.
And TWW could have done Ethereals, or Humanoid nerubians. Instead we got a third Dwarf.
Point being, they’re just not very creative or open-minded about playable races.

One of my biggest gripes about modern WoW is that AR has, for the most part, killed the unique race aspect of the game that originally drew me here. The last race I was actually excited about was Pandaren.
There’s a crazy number of races people have been requesting for years and we’re getting what basically amounts to reskins instead.

I just finished Zul’Amon and now I really want swole trolls.
I was looking at achievements, and I saw ZA skins as an unlock for Darkspear. Not sure if they’re swole though lol
It’s just a few new green skin options for Darkspears, unfortunately.

I think no matter the race there would be people who are disappointed.

Let’s see if we’re counting the troll elves, we’ve got night elf, blood elf, void elf, and um…that abomination for Horde from BFA. So 5?

Funny enough is the Kelfin faction from Nazjatar do appear on Durotar’s shore during the allied race release of Mecha/Vulpera. (South of Durotar’s harbor)
I don’t think Hozen would’ve worked because their body dimensions are just too weird. Jinyu though? Already use Nelf frame, look cool, have lore, and would’ve been great.
Vulpera were a win and quite popular. Mechagnomes should’ve only been a customization option for gnomes though.
Everything from that expansion should stay in Shadowlands where I never have to see it again

Any race would have been better than the lazily designed boring Hairanear. Whoever came up with their design and their ugly zone should be fired and banned from game development in every form.
We could have had playable Amani this expansion, but noooooooo…. We had to have hairy night elves with tusks and glowing tattoos.
