Anyone else?

Anyone else feel like they turned the most fun class turned most boring (besides survival) after devs change things that weren’t broken.

Made a post in general discussion that I wanted to put here but rage blinded me. No but seriously loved this class and this mixed with the most unimaginable hero talents ever I just feel like my main of 19 years is gone.

Not even just the fun but the damage, it feels really awful right now. The hero talents don’t feel like they really add anything.

Nah, BM DR gonna slap in raid, especially with PI, its preseason, who cares about damage right now

It’s a you issue. BM and MM play very similar to how they did in DF.

I’m noticing the people who keep claiming damage is below par is either on alts or their logs are very underwhelming.

You know, I read a lot of your posts bagging everyone else’s opinions based on their performance, so here you go.

In a chat with Liquid’s Max nine days ago IRT BM Azortharion said BM is worthless in M+. Their ST is mid and their AoE is complete garbage. His conclusion is based on performance in Beta M+ and raid testing. He also mentions that it’s not just a simple ability tuning issue, talents need to be re-worked to take damage out of Basilisk Collar and put into other places, because ATM BC is making it impossible to balance the spec IRT ST vs AoE. He seems pretty heated about it, which from what I have seen is uncharacteristic of him. No changes have been made since that video.

I’m fairly sure (completely sure) that Azortharion can be accepted by pretty much everyone as one of the leading authorities on Hunter performance.

Must have what a sore spot.

No one is disputing there are
Issues. But the massive wall of text you wrote has absolutely zero to do with

I’m pretty sure he prefers MM and does BM so it gets done.

Yeah hunter feels pretty boring this expansion. I’m 72 on my main and so far it’s just meh. BM spec, might try survival just because I was hoping for something with a little more punch than what BM has right now. It’s dull

ST I don’t think is a “huge” deal we aren’t #1 but with the interaction with Dark Ranger and Black Arrow it’s addressable.

The issue is AoE and Cleave, it’s just really not there… we have Beast Cleave which I don’t know if it’s because of the lower level or some issue with scaling but Stomp does a nothing amount of damage and the pet itself isn’t anywhere performing like it did in DF.

Explosive Shot has too long of a CD, does great damage mind you but you use it maybe like once every few pulls.

Black Arrow’s trigger if you go Dark Ranger doesn’t really address the issue either (which IMHO would be an easy solution to address the AOE AND the ST issue as Dark Ranger is the way to go for ST at least in non-open world env’s).

Doesn’t address the alpha damage that BM is struggling with, so for non-competitive dungeons DPS will see low in AoE scenarios if they do the above.

Could perhaps help get that going quicker by allowing Cobra Shot to apply Serpents Sting, maybe on Crit or when it’s used on an enemy that isn’t already effected by your serpent sting due to the +dmg it would provide overall (not like Cobra Shot couldn’t use that anyway).

There’s always been issues with scaling. I ran a heroic dungeon this morning with a BM and his damage was fine.

People need to wait till they’re done leveling and running content with no scaling before posting the world is ending.

I mean, I am 80 and the damage is still crap; still working on re-gearing but I really cannot imagine things improving in comparison to what I am seeing DK’s / Mages / etc. around my ilvl doing.

Like… I don’t mind being 3-5% below others… but in an AoE/Cleave it’s like… 30%+

I legit just switched to MM because at the very least it’s competitive but it sucks to move from a spec I have truly enjoyed throughout my time in DF and was honestly looking forward to playing in WW.

MM’s ST is a bit lower, but it’s AoE is significantly improved thanks to trick shots and volley; some of that ST is likely just me getting used to a totally new rotation though so I am sure I can resolve that.

BM was donkey doo-doo for the first half of DF. MM was the go to god tier spec at the start.

I see, so just learn to play MM then.

I think what is missing is, BM used to be fantastic early season, especially solo content. Mid last x-pac, blizz adjusted pets to scale based off the hunters gear, especially the weapon.

So I think a lot of people are not feeling hunter right now because even if you misdirect and have taunt on, you are regularly pulling mobs off your pet, as it feels like the pet does almost no damage, or no where near the ratio of damage to threat to holding power it had.

You can still play around with that, use defensive CDs, FD, ect. But the pets also seem to be getting killed rather easy right now. Even with mend pet rolling, some of these mobs, if the defensive are on CD, the pet IS going to die, and then its turtle and revive mid fight.

From a damage perspective, I’m sure we can make it work. But from a game-play, “this is what this class is good at” perspective, its taken a much larger hit then I feel blizzard intended too. Or they blinded themself to that area as they balanced for damage in better gear.

Also, we got two waves of nerfs last season. They buffed everyone with their stats shift, and Hunter got hit with damage nerfs to base abilities. Another few days go by, and now they are looking at the damage on m+ TWW numbers, so they put the nerf in with the next round.

Blizz is sometimes really slow to realize that say, last season they nerfed hunters to address a temporary problem caused by 70 scaling and tier, so that they didn’t “ruin” the rest of the season, but they forget to come back once that seasons over and that tier is gone

So your argument is the ACTUAL cause of the problem as agreed upon by the guy who literally writes the class guides and the raid leader/GM of one of the worlds leading professional guilds has nothing to do with the problem?

ROFL Thats certainly one of the takes of all time.

I was more implying that if you enjoyed BM for all of DF no matter the state of the spec there’s no reason you can’t do the same for TWW.

I think you need to read what I said and see that the wall of text is irrelevant to what I said.

I think people parsing 46 overall for heroic by ilvl don’t really have any credibility because they get carried by gear.

This,

and for what its worth, my comments more a constructive criticism of the class, or mostly the current vibe of the class. Was just building off your reference to scaling not calling anyone out

Tbh I think people are forgetting the difference a class feels when it’s starved of secondaries.

Like in bis gear in season 4 I had
51% crit
32% haste
90% mastery
13% vers.

I now have like
28% crit
4% haste
25% mastery
6% verse.

The spec is going to feel miles different.

BM feels more or less the same as it did in DF. I’m not a fan, personally, but I do have one of my hunters specced BM just because it’s braindead easy and sometimes I don’t want to think about what buttons I need to push next.

I am not noticing a huge change tbh.
