Anyone else want to play WoW but not DF?

Anyone else want to play WoW but not DF? This expansion is very underwhelming. Blizz play it way too safe with the story.

Professions are convoluted and there is no Work Orders unless you spam trade chat 24/7.

Dragon Riding is annoying as heck

I am not a fan of the disorganized style of WoW DF. I like the old daily hub progression system like ye old, Firelands dailies and eventually MoP’s hubs like Isle of Thunder.

Those were good times. This new, random stuff with scheduled ā€œeventsā€ is not progress, IMO.

The professions are stupid but everything else is fine

never before has an expac allowed us to earn heroic mogs casually doing world content. the raging storms gear catalysts to raid sets and upgrading to 3/3 gives you the heroic appearance.

love it

i hate this expansion and prob gonna quit. Rest of the game is to dead to enjoy anything else but current content.

Me wholeheartedly.

Heck even BFA was kinda missing the mark big time but at least I had a nice time grinding gold which I enjoyed.

I knew they were gonna swing the pendulum hard on professions, and the rest and it made me just nope out. Tried the 10.0.7 stuff and it was actually pretty terrible while the zskera vault thing is… lacking depth to it… not that interesting… nothing feels remotely fun or rewarding in that place

They played it super safe so far to not step on the toes of those who don’t want to feel ā€˜forced’.

Yes. WTB MoP Classic or Legion Classic. But I’m afraid that Classic devs will butcher it to appease organized raiders who refuse to do any world content.

DF devs refuse to let solo players have any content other than minigames, and it is getting frustrating.

I’m playing wow. Having fun with my human mage in wrath classic. If they bring JJ back, going to start playing my orc shaman. DF meh. Probably login and do some time walker stuff. After that back to wrath classic.

Hope they do. Enjoyed those two expansions. Nb4 chores, forced to do stuff yada, yada, yada. Oh no’s my fears of missing out, if I don’t force myself to login everyday

I literally had 20 alts in Legion. I had so much fun in the open world doing WQ and mission tables. However, Mythic raid loggers complain about titan-forging and AP. I actually enjoyed being to test out new classes and specs. While getting good gear in the open world.

For the first time since Legion, I have spent the majority of my time in the current xpac.

I still do my old stuff near the end of the WoW week. Mogs/mounts etc are still my main endgame, the great gear treadmill is fleeting imo. We get a soft reset every season/major patch.

I’m a big fan of the no FOMO we have. I didn’t hate WoW on rails, I actually enjoyed SL as a collector… but it’s nice to be able to do whatever I want and not feel like I missed out on something.

I’m starting to feel that way. Blizzard HAD a formula once for WoW, and it works. But, then, they strayed from it, and now we’ve had several lack-luster, if not downright bad, expansions in a row.

I only do trading post in DF.

I dunno, I am okay with DF tbh. I think lol (If I compare it to SL)

If you’re playing for the story then I think that there’s really not much of a difference between this or any other expansion? What expansion’s story did you find really fun or awesome?

Professions are convoluted and honestly, I feel like the promises from SL were like half kept because while I am not having to dish out 150K-200K a pop per legendary, its still hella annoying to do crafting as far as levelling goes. I spent more gold than I ever made because I didn’t do it right away like most crafters who made money, did. I spent time actually playing the game instead of sitting around just crafting and farming resources to level it all up.

Dragon riding is much more fun and awesome once you do get used to it but if you never got the glyphs or don’t understand how to use the new dragon riding then it has to be annoying as heck, I can understand. Idk why they don’t give people regular flying if they can’t or aren’t able to learn how to use dragonriding.

For me gearing feels like a worthless timegate everyone is gonna be lockstep with anyways, where I can’t even play at my own pace without getting burned or feeling moved off or something out of my control.

Professions got ruined by meaningful choice and exploiters combined.

Blizzard managed to make Dragonflight feel like a massive troll that goes nowhere. I have zero interest in dealing with others for group content over what feels like being trolled.

Apart from disney-like story, DF is best expansion for me, 9/10.

Dragonriding:
Pros:
You can get from A to B VERY VERY FAST, and so its very nice to get to a rare before its dead. Old world mounts feel like you are walking in comparison.

You can mine/herb while still on the mount. That is absolutely amazing.

Customization: lots of options and lots of room for more options.

Flying day 1 of the expansion pack - this is the absolute BEST one. No more pathfinder garbage.

Cons:
Lag makes you stagger/lose movement and kills vigor. I’ll give an example, flying between two zones, as I load in the new zone, I stagger and always have to hit buttons to not just drop down to the ground. Happens every single time.

Perception can make you dizzy if you focus the wrong way. I also don’t like I can’t easily see things and I zoom past things because they are blurry until I slow down. (on the flip side, the programming to do this more realistic flight stuff is absolutely amazing.)

Races: some of them are just aids…smashing into trees and other obstacles. I would have put this at a pro if they made them a bit less gimmick like with the trees and stuff that stop you dead in your tracks. (Got gold done but was a pain on some of these…)

Devs always throw out awesome stuff from the current xpac when the new one comes so we know the days are numbered for how we enjoy this. Legion remembers. Legion never forgets. All the awesome just thrown to the curb.

well, you can play wrath

How exactly do you expect to get work orders if you’re not advertising your profession skills?
