I mean black empire tokens and rank 1 cloak unlock are good enough for my alts currently. Spackle a weekly cache from the open world invasions and it seems good enough for a jumping point on them.

Are you playing retail?

  • 100% Exp buff until 9.0.1.
  • 1 hour Exp buff for doing a daily Assault (unless it happens while you’re sleeping.)
  • Draught of Ten Lands for another hour-long 10% Exp buff.

All stacking.

Why would you wait to level alts? Do you think we’re going to have Legion demon invasions again?

While in the mean time I’ve gotten my last alt to 110 for heritage gear, gotten 12 alts to rank 5 in their cloaks, and am contemplating getting the 5 alts I have at 110 to 120 just for something to do.

I will leave the major leveling of alts to the pre-patch… maybe.

Azerite essences and cloak quest, along with dailies in both zones, just make starting a new alt daunting. Just wish they had all essences unlocked completely.

I’m waiting to test my alts with changes but that’s about it. I’m basically done with bfa. Probably canceling soon as we have entered the content drought. Usually I’m canceled by now but corona got me bored af.

I don’t know if I’d go that far. My Alliance DH has only existed for about three weeks now, and I have my preferred essences maxed on him, with one exception, and I could buy it now if I wanted to because I have 850 or so Echoes available. I just don’t see the need to because my weekly chest will give me rank 3 on it on Tuesday.

As long as you put a reasonable amount of effort into it, it’s not too bad.

I just think that at this stage in the expac to have all these grinds STILL is a bit ridiculous and can understand why it would be daunting. This expac was riddled with unnecessary grinds and things to grind that just made things feel intimidating.

Example I don’t feel like playing my mage and having to farm the right Azerite armor and get the right traits and essences and corruptions. Then level my cloak and level my necklace. Just bleh. Also all this to do when the next expac is right around the corner. Feels even more pointless.

Well, I definitely agree that obtaining and leveling the cloak is a hassle, as are obtaining corruptions, but the former is due in large part to the latter in that particular case.

Leveling the neck though, that’s not much of a problem with the amount of AP needed to reach 80 at this point. My Alliance DH’s neck is actually higher than this toon’s now, and it hasn’t taken very much effort. I’ve only done this one week’s Islands, and that was because I had forty minutes to kill.

I’m holding off on leveling several alts, but it’s not because I’m hoping for catchup, I just want to use Chromie Time for (almost) single continent leveling.

Have to agree that the grind at 120 is a bit ridiculous. It’s so daunting that it probably turns people away.
