This is a pretty ironic comment, considering your name.
“More realistic” is irrelevant. It would be more realistic without dragons or magic…you’re conflating “realistic” with “authentic”.
It’s probably worth mentioning that those glorious mountains of bones at the gates of capitals and raid entrances were probably extremely rare on PVE realms…(RP was also PVE, right?).
I imagine a vast majority of pve-realm players don’t know what they’re missing.

It was mildly amusing to see them during tougher quests, but I find it hard to care.

Seemingly random change of something that was cool, for a weak reason. Really surprised quite frankly, they were so deadset on making as few as changes as possible, then slipped this one under the door at the last second. Wish they would reverse this.

I too am excited to have a fake classic where all the fun memories of things I used to see in classic no longer exist.
Stumbling on skeletons and corpses of people that ragequit was a big part of the experience. You knew a big pvp battle happened here, or that there was a dangerous quest in the area and had to be careful. It was sort’ve like the messages you can see in DarkSouls but you had to put the clues together yourself.
Also it’s not just about crying about skeletons. It’s just yet another change forced on us adding a growing pile of nonsense that dilutes the real classic experience. For me that would be the modern reporting system being abused, in classic if someone was an ***hole you just had to put them on ignore. You couldn’t have 5 people right click them and silence their account. Or how when AV is released we’re getting the crappy dumbed down 1.12 version instead of the bigger one with all the NPCs and lootables.
Addon functionality is being revoked. That LFG addon was entirely possible for people to make back in classic if someone had the idea to do it. Or them removing addons that were part of the vanilla&BC experience, even lasting well into WotLK and watching Blizzard go back and make it impossible to use on classic servers.
At some point it’s just not classic anymore. You’re just playing an inferior version of the retail game with abilities that aren’t as fun and content that is less engaging with a bigger exp/gold grind to do anything in.
I think Bliz should have trolled the exploiters. So after you die, your corpse moves a random 20 yards. So you can’t get that name spelled out properly… That’s the way you deal with trolls.
