Whether it’s cause you have a main and find the idea of grinding alts tedious and unenjoyable. Maybe you aren’t interested in any of the other faction’s races, vibe, or aesthetic. Or you just have no other reason other than liking your own faction fantasy and feel no need to try the other one, simple as that.
Anybody else feel this way or have different reasons why you stick to one side without really playing the other?

It’s a comfort thing for me. Horde lands are just familiar. First a Tauren Warrior then an Orc Warlock. The deserts of Kalimdor are just more comfortable to me by this point then the forests and mountains of the Eastern Kingdom.
On Classic I did make a Dwarf so I could see the other side for the first time. My guild laughed at me when I walked all the way from the Barrens to Auberdeen because I didn’t know there was a boat from the Wetlands. Ha Ha

Not me, I’m a “variety is the spice of life” type of player, so I like to make all sorts of bikini-clad fantasy heroes to play with.
Though honestly I don’t like either faction. I like the races from both faction, but I don’t like the fact that they are bundled into two opposing teams. I’d prefer free association with anyone.

My very first WoW character was a Night Elf, and all it took was arriving at Stormwind to destroy any motivation I had to play on the Alliance. There’s just something I find extremely off-putting about Humans, Gnomes, and Dwarves.
It took some time, but I formed an appreciation for the core races of the Horde after mostly playing Blood Elves - particularly Darkspear Trolls. When Legion came out, I was enamored by the Nightborne questline, so when they went Horde, it affirmed my choice to remain tied to this faction.
The Horde is a perfect fit for me, and the only lens by which I want to experience this game.

Im a one character kinda guy so I only play alliance for the most part.
But thats just because they stopped doing different stories for each faction.
No point having a character on both sides if the content is the same.
I have alts i dont play on both sides if that counts

I have a character in both because many achievements require it. But in the end, I only play one character during the expansion, and all the others are alts for very specific purposes. But yes, I would play anywhere with any race if the circumstances demand it.

I just hate horde cities. That’s it.

I don’t play many characters but all my characters are alliance and it’s because horde are ugly…it’s the same reason that none of my toons are dwarfs despite such a powerful m+ racial. I won’t apologize. Come at me.

Primarily Horde. I would run an Alliance main alt when the stories were separate or there was an incentive to do the other side via achievements/cosmetics. Or when I feel like playing a Paladin. Alliance has better Paladin races.
I have nothing against the Alliance or the people who play them. I like Worgen, Dark Iron Dwarves, and even running around as a refrigerator every once in a while. I just prefer Horde races.

Yes. I was Allaince for a few months.
After midnight release. I went back to horde.
I am mostly Horde only - close to over a decade.
I don’t think I ever had an expansion where I mains an alliance

I have playing WoW for 20 years, so most of my time i am a Horde player. Causally i will play on the Alliance side because of my brother and my coworkers, but for the most part i am Horde. I love being Horde. That who I am.
My best friend/ My brother ( Alliance ) got me into playing WoW, yet i am Horde.
Like my father who is into Monsters, Horror movies, Sci fi Movies, and etc… that i would turn out to be just like him…a Horde.

I want to experience the entire game, not 50% of it.
I play both factions.
Been Alliance since the beginning.
I’ve had Horde characters, but they always gather dust and serve as deletion fodder for when I want to make an actual character.

I play Alliance on Moon Guard because there is no other community like it in the game. The chat is always popping in Trade and LFG, and the world and cities feel lively. If there was a community like that but on Horde side, I would likely play my Horde alts more.

I only play Horde.
And I only play Alliance with races that look appealing to me (Void Elf, space goats).
Right now I’m planning to do the achievement to get the strawberry-flavored space goat.
But I only leveled those Alliance races for the armor, nothing else.

I have many alts on both sides, but my main will always be Horde.
My first toon was a Forsaken warlock and the forests around Undercity and the music there will always hold a special place in my heart, especially the ‘you’re dead’ tune.
Every now and again I’ll have a span of playing Alliance side which is why I have a few level 80 toons but overall that side doesn’t grip me.
When I started Alliance was seen as easier to play (and so many early Alliance quests show that still) and Horde was for the more talented players.
I think it matters less these days but I really miss the feel of the older Horde style. I’m really really tired of having to take orders from Alliance characters with only token representation for Horde.
It really kills my caring for a lot of the quests, like well, all of Hallowfall.

Besides one level 16 orc priest that I named Throwawaii, I’ve only played alliance toons since classic. I just prefer how they look.

No, don’t like playing one faction. It’s like missing on half of the game.
I play mostly alliance and have a single character on the other side just so I can play with certain friends on another realm. They only play horde. It’s just easier for me than doing the cross faction stuff.

Is only playing elves one faction yet? (I kid but I generally am only interested in a narrow subset of either side, elves, trolls, draenei basically - if there’s a tendency that often annoys me it’s most expansions sending you back to Stormwind and Org at least once)
